Anthony Christopher Bahadur or Anthony Adur (born February 25, 1988) is a former Canadian professional soccer player who played as a forward.

Youth career

Adur played soccer at the high school level while enrolled in St. Elizabeth Catholic High School. [1] In his high school senior year in 2007, he helped the team produce an undefeated regular season. [1] He received the team's MVP award twice throughout his tenure at St. Elizabeth. [1]

In 2006, he began playing in the Ontario Soccer League the province's top amateur circuit with Cruz Azul Shooters. [2] He played in the league's Provincial East U21 division and was named the MVP. [2]

Adur played college soccer in 2008 with Lindsey Wilson College. [3]

Club career

Early career

While playing with Cruz Azul Shooters he was called up by the club's parent team the Italia Shooters in the Canadian Soccer League. [4] In his debut season in the Southern Ontario circuit, he assisted Italia in securing a playoff berth by finishing third in their division. [5] The Italians qualified for the championship final after defeating Toronto Croatia in the playoff semifinal round. [5] Adur played in the championship match, he scored the winning goal against the Serbian White Eagles. [6]

In the college offseason, he played in the American-based USL Premier Development League with the Toronto Lynx in the summer of 2008. [7] [3] In total, he played in 11 matches and recorded 1 goal. [8] After the conclusion of the PDL season, he returned to the CSL circuit to sign with the North York Astros. He helped the club clinch a postseason berth. [9]

Asia

In the winter of 2009, Adur was part of a team assembled by Rafael Carbajal that played in a friendly match in Singapore. [10] Shortly after on February 3, 2009, he received a contract from Sengkang Punggol of the Singaporean S. League. [11] [12]

After a year in Singapore, he signed with Maccabi Haifa in Israel but was released six months later. [10] He then moved to Thailand to sign with TOT S.C. where he spent two seasons. [13] Following his time in Asia, he was linked with a move to the Egyptian side Ismaily SC but because of the civil unrest throughout the country, he left. [10]

North America

In 2012, he returned to the North American continent where he trained with MLS side Columbus Crew during his free agency. [14] While in the United States, he played in the National Premier Soccer League in 2013 with Zanesville Athletic. [15]

In the fall of 2013, he received a trial with FC Edmonton of the North American Soccer League. [16] Following his successful trial, he officially secured a contract with Edmonton on August 1, 2013. [17] [18] He debuted for Edmonton on August 11, 2013, against the San Antonio Scorpions. [19] [20] Adur left Edmonton once the season was finished. [21] [22] In Edmonton, he played in 8 matches. [23]

In 2016, he returned to play with his former club the Shooters, renamed York Region Shooters. [7] Adur recorded his first goal of the season on August 28, 2016, against FC Ukraine United. [24] Throughout the season he appeared in 8 matches and recorded 2 goals. [25] He helped York Region secure the league's first division title. [26] In the preliminary round of the postseason, he contributed a goal in a 5–0 victory over Milton SC. [27] [28] Their playoff journey concluded after a 4–1 defeat in a penalty shootout to Hamilton City. [29]

In 2021, he returned to the Ontario Soccer League to play with GS United. [30]

International career

In 2012, Adur entertained the option of representing the Trinidad and Tobago national football team in the country of his father's birth. [31]

Darryl Gomez is a Trinidadian-Kittitian former footballer and manager. Gomez began playing football at the college level in 1996 with the Winthrop Eagles. After his completing his scholarship in 2000 he played in the USL A-League with the Richmond Kickers, and the Toronto Lynx. Following his time in the A-League and NPSL he played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League with several different clubs, and would eventually conclude his playing career in the league. SC Waterloo Region is a professional Canadian soccer team that plays in the Canadian Soccer League, a non-FIFA-sanctioned league. The club was formed in 2011 under the name KW United FC and competed in the Second Division of the CSL. The following year the organization's name was changed to SC Waterloo Region and was promoted to the First Division. Within a short time Waterloo enjoyed a string of success within the league. Toronto Croatia defended their championship in a 1–0 victory over the Montreal Impact Academy in the CSL Championship final at Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto. Montreal became the second Quebec club after Trois-Rivières Attak to reach the final, while Toronto added more silverware to their cabinet by winning the double during the regular season. In the Second Division SC Toronto B won their first Second Division championship, and TFC Academy II secured the regular season title.

The 2014 Canadian Soccer League season was the 17th since its establishment where a total of 20 teams from Ontario took part in the league. The season began on May 24, 2014, and concluded on October 26, 2014. York Region Shooters won their second championship in a 5–4 victory in a penalty shootout over Toronto Croatia in the CSL Championship final held at Esther Shiner Stadium in Toronto. York Region became the second club in the league's history to produce a perfect season, and championship after the Toronto Olympians in the 1999 season.

The 2016 Canadian Soccer League season was the 19th season under the Canadian Soccer League name. The first match of the season was played on May 21, 2016, and ended on October 30, 2016. The season concluded with the Serbian White Eagles claiming their second CSL Championship by defeating expansion franchise Hamilton City by a score of 2-1. In the Second Division, the York Region Shooters B defeated Toronto Atomic FC B 2-1. During the regular season, York Region claimed their fifth regular-season title and achieved a team milestone by recording their best defensive record allowing only 10 goals a record not matched since the Ottawa Wizards in the 2003 CPSL season. Meanwhile, SC Waterloo Region acquired their third Second Division regular-season title.

The 2017 York Region Shooters season was the twentieth season in the club's participation in the Canadian Soccer League. Their season commenced on May 27, 2017 in an away match against Scarborough SC. The season concluded with York Region winning their third CSL Championship, after defeating Scarborough in a penalty shootout.
