Anthony Akol is a Ugandan politician and a member of the Ugandan Parliament representing Kilak North constituency. He was elected as the leader of Acholi Parliamentary Group (APG) in July 2021 for a tenure of two and half years. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
Akol was elected to the parliament on the ticket of the Forum for Democratic Change [7] [8] and serves on the committees on Human Right,Finance and Planning and Economic Development. In July 2021,he was elected the leader of the Acholi Parliamentary Group (APG) with 11 votes defeating Omoro District Woman Member of Parliament,Catherine Lamwaka who scored 10 votes. [9] On 30 January 2020,Akol was involved in a fisticuffs with his colleague representing Aruu County,Odonga Otto in the pigeon hall lobby of parliament. [10] After the fight,Akol told the press that he only defended himself against the punch of his colleague, [11] describing himself as a heavyweight and saying that if he had punched Otto he would have been down. In April 2019,Akol's vehicle hit a stray cow crossing the highway in Wakisanyi village in Kiryandongo district resulting in an accident injuring him. [12]

The Acholi people are a Nilotic ethnic group of Luo peoples,found in Magwi County in South Sudan and Northern Uganda,including the districts of Agago,Amuru,Gulu,Kitgum,Nwoya,Lamwo,Pader and Omoro District. The Acholi were estimated to number 2.3 million people and over 45,000 more were living in South Sudan in 2000.
Achiro Lucy Otim, commonly referred to as Lucy Achiro Otim is a female Ugandan politician and a Gender Specialist. She is the district woman representative for Aruu North County consistency,Pader district in the 10th Parliament. Achiro belongs to an independent political party at the Parliament of Uganda. She won the parliamentary seat running as an independent candidate in 2016. Her tenure as member of parliament was cut short when the Ugandan supreme court nullified her election for non-compliance with electoral laws because the electoral commission failed to carry out a vote recount after she had won with a two vote margin,beating James Nabinson Kidega of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). However,she returned as member of parliament after being re-elected Aruu north member of parliament in the April 2017 election by again beating Kidega,this time 64 percent to 32 percent.
Aisha Sekindi is a Ugandan educator and legislator. As of February 2022,she serves as Uganda's Minister of State for Water and the woman representative for Kalungu district in Uganda's eleventh parliament. She replaced Hon. Ronald Kibuule who handed over the office in July 2021. She held the same position in Uganda's tenth parliament. Politically,she is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement under whose ticket she contested in the 2016 general election,achieving victory over Aisha Naluyati Waligo of the Democratic Party Uganda (DP).
Resty Nanteza is a Ugandan politician. She is also a radio presenter at NBS radio in Jinja city owned by former member of parliament Hon Igeme Nathan Nabeta. In 2021,she was a candidate to be the woman representative in parliament for the Buikwe district in the 2021 Uganda general elections,after serving as the chairperson of Nyenga Division. She managed to garner 41,561 votes,and was reported as having won in some early lists of results. However,she lost to Diana Mutasingwa (NRM) who won the election with 43,215 votes. Nanteza challenged the results in the courts.
