Anthony Collins (born 9 June 1949) is a New Zealand cricketer. He played in one first-class and four List A matches for Canterbury from 1976 to 1978. [1]
Anthony Frederick Wilding was a New Zealand world No. 1 tennis player and soldier who was killed in action during World War I. Considered the world's first tennis superstar, Wilding was the son of wealthy English immigrants to Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand and enjoyed the use of private tennis courts at their home. He obtained a legal education at Trinity College, Cambridge and briefly joined his father's law firm. Wilding was a first-class cricketer and a keen motorcycle enthusiast. His tennis career started with him winning the Canterbury Championships aged 17. He developed into a leading tennis player in the world during 1909–1914 and is considered to be a former world No. 1. He won 11 Grand Slam tournament titles, six in singles and five in doubles, and is the first and to date only player from New Zealand to have won a Grand Slam singles title. He also won seven ILTF World Championships; Wimbledon four times, the World Hard Court Championships twice and the World Covered Court Championships once.

Iain Anthony Robertson is a first class cricketer who plays for the Canterbury Wizards. He played for New Zealand in the 2002 U-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. In 2007 he played for Countesthorpe Cricket Club in Leicestershire. Up to April 2009, he'd played 21 first class games, scoring 828 runs at nearly 40 and taking 17 wickets with his off breaks.

John Ulric Collins was a New Zealand cricketer who played six first-class matches: one for Nelson in 1884–85 and five for Canterbury between 1892–93 and 1895–96. As a teenager, he had also appeared in a minor match for a Wellington XXII that had much the worse of a draw against a ten-man Australians side in 1886–87.
David Graeme Farrant is a former New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for the Canterbury Wizards in the 1980s. He is the younger brother of Anthony Farrant.
Canterbury Cricket Week is the oldest cricket festival week in England and involves a series of consecutive Kent home matches, traditionally held in the first week in August. It was founded in 1842, although a similar festival week was first held in 1839 by the Beverley Cricket Club, the predecessor of Kent County Cricket Club. Since 1847 it has taken place at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury, before that it was held at the Beverley Ground in the same city. In addition to hosting cricket matches, it also includes several other events and ceremonies. As of 2018, there have been 167 Canterbury Cricket Weeks held. The week continued through the Second World War with cricket being held on the ground each season.
Dudley Park is a cricket ground in Rangiora, Canterbury, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground came when North Canterbury played Central Otago in the 1963/64 Hawke Cup. A single Youth One Day International was played there in 1987 when New Zealand Young Cricketer played Australia Young Cricketers. The ground first held a List A match in the 1980/81 Shell Cup when Canterbury played Central Districts. Canterbury played six further List A matches there, the last of which came in the 1996/97 Shell Cup. Dudley Park has also hosted first-class matches, the first of which saw Canterbury play Wellington in the 1984/85 Shell Trophy. Fourteen further first-class matches have been held there, the last of which saw Canterbury play Wellington in the 2002/03 State Championship. The ground has twice held the final of the Shell Trophy, with Canterbury winning on both occasions.
Arnold Anthony was a New Zealand cricketer. He played 52 first-class matches for Auckland and Canterbury between 1905 and 1931.
