Anthony Wesly Florence (born December 11, 1966) is an American former professional football defensive back. He spent two seasons with the National Football League (NFL)'s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and another season with the Cleveland Browns.

Florence was selected in the fourth round of the 1989 NFL draft out of Bethune-Cookman, [2] where he was teammates with Terry Williams. [3] The pick was considered a “reach,” [4] and Florence never played a down for the Buccaneers.

Craig Neil Erickson is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Prior to entering the NFL, he played college football for the Miami Hurricanes. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the 1991 NFL draft and also by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 1992 NFL draft. Jack Forsyth "Cy" McClairen was an American professional football player and college coach. He played as an end for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the 1953 NFL draft, but served a two-year stint in the Army. At Bethune–Cookman University, McClairen had duties as head coach in football and basketball as well as duties as athletic director. He served as head football coach from 1961 to 1972 and again from 1994 to 1996. He also coached the most wins for men's basketball in Bethune–Cookman history, having amassed a record of 397–427 in 31 total seasons.

Lee Eric Williams is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end and defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers sixth overall in the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft of USFL and CFL Players. He played college football at Bethune-Cookman.

Alvin B. Wyatt is a former American football player and coach of football and basketball. He played professionally as a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) with the Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills, and Houston Oilers and in World Football League (WFL) with the Jacksonville Sharks. Wyatt served as the head football coach at his alma mater, Bethune–Cookman University from 1997 to 2009 and Edward Waters College from 2013 to 2017, compiling a career college football coaching record of 100–92. He was also the head women's basketball coach at Bethune–Cookman from 1978 to 1996, tallying a mark of 245–201.

Anthony Leguinn McDowell is a former professional American football player who played running back for three seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the eighth round of the 1992 NFL draft.

Charles LaCarda Riggins was an American football player. A defensive end in the National Football League (NFL), Riggins was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the ninth round of the 1982 NFL draft. He would later play with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 1987 NFL season. Riggins died in Tampa, Florida, on September 14, 2024, at the age of 64.

Antwuan Bernard Wyatt is a former American football wide receiver. He played one season for the Philadelphia Eagles, after a college career at Clemson and Bethune-Cookman. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 1997 NFL Draft.

Stevie Thomas is a former Arena football wide receiver/linebacker in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football at Bethune-Cookman University. He was an undrafted free agent of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and earned NFL contract for the 1990 season. In 1991, he was 3rd round draft pick of the inaugural season of the World League of American Football (WLAF). Upon returning from the WLAF, he joined the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.

The Lane Dragons football are the college football team representing Lane College. The Dragons compete in NCAA Division II as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They play their home games at Rothrock Stadium in Jackson, Tennessee and are currently led by head coach Vyron Brown, a former Grambling State University player and offensive coordinator.
