Antlered Man is a four-piece alternative rock group from London, England. The band members had previously performed as Metro Riots before changing their band name and style in 2009.
Metro Riots formed in 2003 and began performing in small venues. [1]
The band released an EP in 2004, titled And So...the Tyrants were Loose. In 2006, their single "When You're Gone", was released under the label Eleven78 Records. "When You're Gone" earned Single of the week in The Sun newspaper and was played on Xfm Radio London 104.9fm on the John Kennedy Show.[ citation needed ] Metro Riots then toured the UK twice with Dirty Pretty Things, [2] followed by a European tour with Juliette Lewis and the Licks. They returned to England for a solo tour, and recorded an album, Night Time Angel Candy at Rockfields Studios with producer Pedro Ferreira.
Metro Riots' songs "Modern Romance" and "Hazchem Remedy" were featured in the 2006 video game Urban Chaos: Riot Response for Xbox and PlayStation 2. "Thee Small Faces" was featured in the playlist for the video game 'Need For Speed: Carbon' (2006).
In 2007 the band released a single, "New Epidemic" and performed at the SXSW festival in Texas. They followed this with another tour of Europe with Juliette Lewis and the Licks. The second single "Poison the Bride" was accompanied by a music video which was refused play by music video networks.[ citation needed ] In August 2007, Metro Riots released their debut album Night Time Angel Candy.
In 2009 the members of Metro Riots stopped recording and playing under that name, and after recording new demos, relaunched as "Antlered Man", with a heavier, darker and psychedelic-influenced sound.
Antlered Man released an album titled Giftes 1&2 on their own imprint 'Goo Grrrl Records' and subsequently licensed it to Noisolution in GSA. [3] The album gained favourable reviews in Classic Rock, Artrocker, Rock Sound, Drowned In Sound [4] and Germany's Visions magazine. Lead single, "Surrounded By White Men" was playlisted on Xfm and featured feature in Kerrang.
Antlered Man's energetic live performances led to them being nominated for 'Live Band Of The Year' at the 2012 Artrocker awards. [5] They have played a variety of festivals including The Great Escape, [6] Camden Crawl, 2000trees, 1234 Festival, Eire Mit Speck and Krach am Bach.
In 2013 the band released the album This Devil is Them. [7] [8] [9]
In 2014 Antlered Man is signed to London label New Heavy Sounds. [10]
Atari Teenage Riot (ATR) is a German band formed in Berlin in 1992. Highly political, they fuse radical left-wing, anarchist and anti-fascist views with punk vocals and a techno sound called digital hardcore, which is a term band member Alec Empire used as the name of his record label Digital Hardcore Recordings.
Art Brut are an English indie rock band. Their debut album, Bang Bang Rock & Roll, was released on 30 May 2005, with its follow up, It's a Bit Complicated, released on 25 June 2007. Named after French painter Jean Dubuffet's definition of outsider art – art by prisoners, loners, the mentally ill, and other marginalized people, and made without thought to imitation or presentation – South London's Art Brut were tagged by NME as part of the "Art Wave" scene that also included bands such as The Rakes, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party. The band released further albums, Art Brut vs Satan in 2009 and Brilliant! Tragic! in 2011. A fifth album, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!", was released in 2018.
Juliette and the Licks is an American rock band led by actress and singer Juliette Lewis. Other band members have included guitarists Todd Morse, Craig Fairbaugh, Emilio Cueto, bassist Jason Womack and drummer Ed Davis. Their popular songs include "You're Speaking My Language" and "Hot Kiss". The band broke up in 2009. They reunited for a Los Angeles show in 2015, followed by extensive touring in 2016. In June of 2016, Juliette Lewis announced a solo tour leaving the future of The Licks undetermined. In May 2018 members of the band tweeted that they were in the studio working on new music as Juliette And The Licks.
Duels are an English indie rock band from Leeds formed in 2005. They have been described by The Guardian as "one of Britain's most ambitious groups" The band's debut album, The Bright Lights And What I Should Have Learned was released in July 2006 and received an 8/10 review in the NME, while also being named 'Album of the Week' in The Sunday Times, The Guardian and on XFM.
Good Shoes were a four-piece English indie rock band, hailing from Morden, London.
The Dykeenies are a Scottish indie rock band from Cumbernauld, formed in 2005. The group consists of brothers Brian Henderson and Andrew Henderson, along with Steven Ramsay and John Kerr. Since their formation, they have released one studio album, Nothing Means Everything, accompanied by three singles. After a worldwide tour, the band began work on their second album, which was released in October 2011. They broke up in January 2012, before re-forming for two performances in 2017. The Dykeenies released their EP 'I Wanted To Show Her All The Beautiful Things in the World' on 11 May 2018. The title of the 2018 EP was taken from Bret Ellis-Easton's 'American Psycho'.

The Moths! were an English indie rock band from London. They made new wave and post-punk pop and had drawn comparisons with the Human League, Wire, the Buzzcocks and early Adam and the Ants.
AJJ is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, originally formed in 2004 as Andrew Jackson Jihad. Their lyrics handle themes of shyness, poverty, humanity, religion, addiction, existentialism, and politics. Singer/guitarist Sean Bonnette and bassist Ben Gallaty co-founded the band, and have remained its only constant members throughout. The band has released eight studio albums to date, with their most recent, Disposable Everything, having been released on 26 May 2023.

Though the band is a duo, they have additional musicians on bass, guitar and drums for live performances. The Penelopes are also award winning film composers, remixers, producers, and DJs.

The Chapman Family were an English indie rock band from Stockton-on-Tees, that formed in 2006. The band's final lineup consisted of Kingsley Chapman, Pop Chapman, Owen Chapman, Kevin James Chapman and Scott Chapman. The band's debut album Burn Your Town was released on 7 March 2011. They were notably part of the "10 Tips for 2009" shortlist published by NME.

Pete and the Pirates were an English indie rock band from Reading, Berkshire, England. The band consisted of Thomas Sanders (vocals), Peter Hefferan, David Thorpe (guitar), Peter Cattermoul (bass) and Jonny Sanders (drums).
Is Tropical are a band from London, England, with members as of 2014 including Simon Milner, Gary Barber, Dominic Apa, and Kirstie Fleck. Formed in 2009 as a trio, in June 2011 they released their debut album Native To, preceded by the single "The Greeks", which had a music video win awards at the UK Music Video Awards. Their first EP, Flags, was released in 2013, while their second album I'm Leaving was released that year on the label Kitsuné. They have toured with bands such as Egyptian Hip Hop, and are signed to Axis Mundi Records in New York. The band's third album, Black Anything, was released in March 2016.

Wolf Alice are an English rock band from London, England. Formed in 2010 as an acoustic duo comprising singer Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, Wolf Alice have also featured bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey since 2012.
