Antonette Wilken (born 9 June 1961) is a Zimbabwean diver. She competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics and the 1984 Summer Olympics. [1]

Henry Wilkens was a German-born soldier in the U.S. Army who served with the 2nd U.S. Cavalry during the Nez Perce War. In the summer of 1877, he received the Medal of Honor for two separate engagements, Little Muddy Creek and Camas Meadows, against Lame Deer and the Nez Perce in the Idaho Territory. Wilkens was one of four men who received the award for taking part in the battle of Little Muddy Creek.

In September 1943, the British government asked neurologist Ludwig Guttmann to establish the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire. When the centre opened in 1944, Guttmann was appointed its director and held the position until 1966. Sport was introduced as part of the total rehabilitation programme for patients at the centre, starting with darts, snooker, punchball, and skittles, followed by archery.

The men's national basketball team of the United States won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Led by Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Lenny Wilkens, the team won gold for the second straight Olympics. Nicknamed Dream Team III, the team included five players who were Olympic teammates on the original "Dream Team", from the 1992 Olympic basketball tournament: Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, John Stockton, and David Robinson. Gary Payton was a late replacement for the injured Glenn Robinson.

Helena Antonette "Lenie" Gerrietsen was a Dutch gymnast who competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London and the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. In 1948, Gerrietsen placed fifth in the team all-around competition. In 1952, she competed in all artistic gymnastics events with her best result being 6th place in the team portable apparatus. Gerrietsen died on 22 June 2024, at the age of 94.
