Anup Revanna is an Indian actor who works in Kannada cinema. The son of former Karnataka minister H M Revanna, [1] Anup entered the film industry as an actor through the 2016 action film Lakshmana. [2]

Early life

Anup Revanna was born on 8 February 1994 in Bangalore as the son of Politician H.M. Revanna [3] and Vatsala Revanna. He attended Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore.

Career

Anup learned acting in Koothu-P-Pattarai. In 2016 Anup debuted as a lead actor in R. Chandru's action film Lakshmana. His second film was Na Panta Kano, directed by S. Narayan, and was released in 2017. [4]

Sampath Kumar, known by his stage name Vishnuvardhan, was an Indian actor who worked predominantly in Kannada cinema besides also having sporadically appeared in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam language films. Vishnuvardhan has a prolific career spanning over four decades, during which he has acted in more than 220 films. A popular cultural icon of Karnataka, and holds the status of a matinée idol amongst the Kannada diaspora. He is popularly called as Sahasa Simha, Dada and The Angry Young Man of Kannada Cinema. Vishnuvardhan's contributions to Kannada cinema have been praised by his contemporaries in the Indian film industry. The Government of Karnataka honoured him with the Rajyothsava Prashasthi in 1990 and the Dr. Rajkumar Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 for his contributions to Kannada cinema. He was called The Phoenix of Indian Cinema. In 2008, a poll conducted by CNN-IBN listed Vishnuvardhan as the most popular star in the Kannada film industry.

Puneeth Rajkumar, colloquially known as Appu, was an Indian actor, philanthropist, playback singer, television presenter and producer, who worked in Kannada cinema. He was the youngest son of actor and matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar. He was one of the most popular actors in Kannada cinema. He appeared as a lead in 32 films. As a child, he appeared in many films. His performances as a child actor in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha (1983), Yarivanu (1984) and Bettada Hoovu (1985) were praised. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. He also won Karnataka State Award Best Child artist for Chalisuva Modagalu and Eradu Nakshatragalu. Puneeth's first lead role was in 2002's Appu. He was conferred with the Doctorate by Mysuru University. The story is written by Amid and the cinematography is by Mathew Rajan. The film is a remake of Tamil film Rajathandhiram (2015).

Dada is Back is a 2017 Indian Kannada crime film directed by Santhosh produced by Ajay Raj Urs and Dr Shankar under the Apple Films & Dayanand Sounds production The film stars Arun Kumar, Ajay Raj Urs, Shravya along with the Tamil actor R. Parthiepan, making his debut in Kannada cinema. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Anoop Seelin whilst the cinematography is by Nagesh Acharya.

<i>Kanaka</i> (film) 2018 film

Kanaka is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language romantic action film directed by R. Chandru. It features Duniya Vijay, Hariprriya and Manvitha Harish in the lead roles along with P. Ravishankar, Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila in key supporting roles. The score and soundtrack for the film are by Naveen Sajju and the cinematography is by Satya Hegde.

Raambo 2 is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language action comedy drama film written and directed by Anil Kumar and produced by Atlanta Nagendra and Sharan. Featuring Sharan in the lead role, with Ashika Ranganath, Chikkanna, P. Ravishankar and Tabla Nani in the principal roles. A song sequence in the film has five of the leading ladies whom Sharan had paired with in his previous films. The film is co-funded by its technicians such as music director Arjun Janya, cinematographer Sudhakar S Raj, associate director Tharun Sudhir and editor K. M. Prakash. The film released across Karnataka on 18 May 2018.
