Any Name's Okay (sometimes colloquially as ANO) is a Filipino alternative pop band from Manila, formed in 2017. The band consists of Sofia Abrogar (vocals), Renzo Lumanog (guitar, vocals), Juan Lada (bass), Arvin Olete (drums), and Anton Atienza (guitar). [1]

Contents

Any Name's Okay released their first single "Clouds" through streaming platforms in May 2018. [2] The band was nominated for multiple Awit Awards in 2019, 2023, and 2024 and performed in Taiwan's Pasiwali Music Festival in 2019 as the only Filipino act. [3]

History

ANO was formed in 2017 in the UP Music Circle, a music organization at the University of the Philippines Diliman, as part of the organization's application process. Abrogar, Lumanog, and Lada were freshmen at the university when they joined the Music Circle, where they met Olete and former member Mike Armas. [4] Upon joining, the members had to come up with a name to call themselves and settled with "Any Name's Okay'". According to Abrogar, they thought the band would end after the application process. [5]

Any Name's Okay was about to disband after they had been accepted to the Music Circle when Lumanog was able to book a gig for the band at Manila Science High School's "Masciang Paskuhan" event in December 2017. [5] [6] Their debut single, "Clouds", was written because the band wanted to perform an original song at the event. The band, along with their name continued after that.

Guitarist Mike Armas left the band in December 2022. [7] In 2023, Anton Atienza was introduced through Any Name's Okay's social media platforms.
