Aparichita is a 1969 Indian Bengali-language thriller film co-written and directed by Salil Dutta. Produced by Debnath Roy and Geetali Dutta under the banner of R. D. Productions, [1] the film is based on the novel of the same name by Samaresh Basu, [2] which itself was actually inspired by The Idiot written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. [3] It stars Uttam Kumar, Soumitra Chatterjee, Sandhya Roy, and Aparna Sen in the lead, while Utpal Dutt, Bikash Roy, Tarun Kumar, Dilip Roy and Haradhan Bandyopadhyay in another pivotal roles. Politician Priyanath forces Sunita for prostitution. She is abducted by the gangster Ranjan but latter involves and falls in love with Sujit. Sujit, just recovered from mental breakdown also involves with Sunita. While Sunita is going to marry Sujit, Ranjan kills Sunita. [7]
Joy Baba Felunath is a 1979 Indian Bengali-language mystery film directed and written by Satyajit Ray. Ogo Bodhu Shundori English: Hey Beautiful Bride) is a 1981 Bengali comedy film, directed by Salil Dutta. It was one of the last films of the iconic Bengali actor Uttam Kumar, who died during production. A lookalike, Prabir Kumar, was brought in to stand in for Kumar for the final sections of the film and for the song O Daddy, O Mummy. The film starred also Moushumi Chatterjee, Sumitra Mukherjee, Ranjit Mallick and Santosh Dutta. The movie is a Bengali reworking of the story of Pygmalion, heavily drawing upon the British musical My Fair Lady.

Dhanraj Tamang is a 1978 Indian Bengali language vigilante action film co-written and directed by Pijush Bose based on the story of Charuchandra Chakraborty alias Jorasandha. The film was released under the banner of Usha Films starring Uttam Kumar, Sandha Roy, Utpal Dutta, Anil Chatterjee, Dilip Roy and Chaya Devi in lead roles. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Shyamal Mitra, with lyrics penned by Gauriprasanna Mazumder. Plotted in Sittong tea estate, Darjeeling, it revolves around Dhanraj Tamang, a tea estate worker who always fights against the predators who try to rape the women instead of job in the estate. All on a sudden, he gets prisoned for being falsely accused of raping his wife, Phoolmaya. He escapes from the jail to look into the matter and unfortunately discovers his boss to be the mastermind of all the rapes, including of his wife. After taking the revenge, Dhanraj becomes mad and dies in the Ranchi mental asylum.

Sabyasachi is a 1977 Bengali language period political action thriller film directed by Pijush Basu. Based on the novel Pather Dabi written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, the film produced by Asim Sarkar under the banner of Usha Films. It stars Uttam Kumar in the titular role, alongside Supriya Devi, Bikash Roy, Kiran Lahiri and Tarun Kumar in lead roles. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Nidan Bandhu Banerjee and particulary Uttam Kumar himself, marking his second film as a composer after Kal Tumi Aleya (1966). Set in British India, it revolves around a freedom fighter as well as revolutionary Dr. Sabyasachi Mallick, arresting whom is very difficult for the police as he always escape through his presence of mind and jaw dropping disguises. When he comes to Burma to continue his foundation 'Pather Dabi' against the British raj and the Burma police service hires DCP Nimai Roy from India to bring him down.
