Apollon Kalamarias B.C. is the basketball section of Apollon Kalamarias, the Greek multisport club based in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki. The women's team stands out from the club because has won two championships and one cup. [1] [2]

Women's team

The women's team of Apollon Kalamarias was founded in 1968, nine years after founding of men's team. [3] It is the most successful section of Apollon since it is the only department that has won Panhellenic titles. It is also the only women's basketball team from Thessaloniki that has won a Greek championship or Greek cup. Apollon Kalamarias has won two championship and one cup. [1] [2] The current season the club plays in A2 Ethniki women's.

Men's team

Men's team of Apollon kalamarias was founded in 1959, thanks to initiatives of Giorgos Meliadis. [3] Apollon played for many years in Gamma Ethniki basketball. The most successful period of the club was the period 2009-2011 when Apollon played for three consecutive seasons in Beta Ethniki Basketball. The current season, Apollon played in Greek C Basket League.

FO Vrilissia, full name Filathlitikos Omilos Vrilissia is Greek volleyball club based in Vrilissia in the regional unit of North Athens, Attica. It is mainly active in women volleyball and it is one of the most successful clubs in this sport. FO Vrilissia has won 9 Panhellenic titles in women volleyball. Despite its successful presence the club retreated from the championship in season 2014-15 due to financial problems and relegated to second tier championship.

The 2011–12 Greek Volleyleague season was the 44th season of the Greek Volleyleague, the highest tier professional volley league in Greece. The winner of the league was Iraklis Thessaloniki, which beat Foinikas Syros in the league's playoff's finals. The last match of the finals didn't held because Foinikas withdrew protested for a previous match. The clubs E.A. Patras and Apollon Kalamarias were relegated to the Greek A2 League. The championship finished with only 11 team because Apollon Kalamarias withdrew in the middle of season. The MVP of the league was Andrej Kravárik, player of Iraklis.

A2 Ethniki Volleyball or Greek A2 Volleyball League is the third-tier of the Greek volleyball championship system in Greece. It used to be the second-tier until the founding of the Pre-league tier replacing A2 as the second tier making A2 the third one, since 2019. It was founded in 1988. The winner teams promoted to A1 Ethniki Volleyball. The championship is held in three groups of teams. The winner of each group plays in a play-off championship and the two best teams of play-off promoted to A1 Ethniki. The recent season, the winners are AEK Athens and AE Komotinis

Aias Evosmou is a Greek multi-sport club based in Evosmos, Thessaloniki. It was founded in 1967 and it has departments in various sports, football, basketball and volleyball. The full name of the club is Athlitikos Politistikos Syllogos Aias Evosmou/APS Aias Evosmou. The most successful department is the women's volleyball team that plays in A1 Ethniki. The team's colours are red and white and its emblem is the ancient Greek hero Aias.

GS Apollon Smyrnis, full name Gymnasticos Syllogos Apollon Smyrnis, literally Gymnastics Society Apollon of Smyrna is a Greek multi-sport club based in Athens. Apollon originally was founded in Smyrna in 1891 and moved to Athens in 1922 after Asia Minor Disaster. The club has got departments in football, basketball, volleyball, waterpolo and other sports. The most successful section is the football team with long presence in A Ethniki. The home stadium of the club is in Rizoupoli, a district of Athens. The club's colours are blue and white and its emblem is the ancient God Apollo.
