The Greek basketball league system is a number of interconnected competitions for professional basketball clubs in Greece. The system has a hierarchical format with a promotion and relegation system between competitions at different levels. There are nine different competition levels in the system. The highest level competitions are the professional and semi professional nationwide competitions, which include the top-tier level Greek Basket League, the second-tier level Greek A2 Basket League, the third-tier level Greek B Basket League, and the fourth-tier level Greek C Basket League. Those competitions are then followed by the regional amateur level competitions, which include: the A1, the A2, the B, the C, and/or the C1, and the C2 categories.

The top-tier level Greek Basket League is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Association (HEBA), while all of the league levels below the top-tier are organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (HBF).

The 2019–20 Greek betshop.gr Basket League was the 80th season of the Greek Basket League, the top-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The season started in September 2019, and ended prematurely in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 21 May 2020, after a vote that was held between the league's 14 teams, Panathinaikos was crowned the Greek basketball league's champion for the season, marking the club's 38th Greek championship. The league's 14 teams also agreed that none of the teams would be relegated.

The club is located in Neo Faliro, Piraeus, which is about 7.4 kilometers from Athens, Greece. The club's full name is Olympiacos Piraeus Basketball Club B Development Team. The team currently plays in the Greek A2 Basket League, which is the second-tier level of professional club basketball in Greece.

The 2019–20 Greek Basketball Cup was the 45th edition of Greek top-tier level professional domestic basketball cup competition. The previous winner of the cup was Panathinaikos. The cup competition started on 18 September 2019 and ended on 16 February 2020. AEK won the competition.
