The Greek football league system includes five levels in which teams can possibly make it to the Super League 1, Greece's highest division of football.
Greek Football Professional Cup: Levels 1 to 3
Greek Football Amateur Cup: Level 4
Super League 1: Bottom two clubs are relegated to the Super League 2.
Super League 2: Bottom two clubs are relegated to the Football League.
Football League : Top two clubs of the Football League in the end are promoted to Super League 2. Bottom four relegated to the Gamma Ethniki.
Gamma Ethniki: The champions of each group are promoted to the Football League. The bottom twenty nine teams of are relegated to the local championships.
Local championships: The top team in each regional league is entered into the promotional play-offs with other regions. The two winners of each group are promoted to the respective group in the Gamma Ethniki.

Apollon Larissa Football Club is a Greek professional football club based in Filippoupoli, Larissa, Greece. The club plays in the Super League 2, the second tier of the Greek football league system. It plays its home matches at the AEL FC Arena.
The Super League Greece 1, or Super League 1 Interwetten for sponsorship reasons, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced Alpha Ethniki at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games each followed by a 10-game play-off to decide the champions.

It is the club's oldest and most successful department, officially established in 1929 and named after the famous ancient Cretan expatriate Olympic runner Ergoteles of Himera. The club currently competes in the Super League 2, the second tier of the Greek football league system, and hosts its home games at the Pankritio Stadium, the city's largest and most modern sports venue. Ergotelis is one of the two Heraklion-based football clubs to have competed in the Greek Super League, the country's top-level football competition, having made a total of 9 appearances during 2004–2015. The club's best finish in the competition is 7th place during the 2013–14 season. It has also won the Beta Ethniki once, in 2006, as well as the Greek Football Amateur Cup in 1983. Its traditional colors are yellow and black.

Ethnikos Piraeus 1923 Football Club is a Greek football club based in Piraeus and its parent sports club is Ethnikos OFPF. The club was officially formed in 1923 as Keravnos, but existed since 1922. One year later the club was renamed to Young Boys Titan, after some players' secession that formed Peiraikos Podosfairikos Omilos. The club was renamed to Ethnikos on 23 December 1924, after it merged with Peiraikos Podosfairikos Omilos.

The club merged with neighboring club Kissamikos in 2017 to form AO Chania Kissamikos F.C..
Aiginiakos Football Club is a Greek professional football club based in Aiginio, Pieria, Greece. The club plays in the Gamma Ethniki, the fourth tier of Greek football. It plays its home matches at the Municipal Stadium "Giannis Paralikidis".

Irodotos Football Club, short for Podosferikós Athlitikós Sýllogos Alikarnassoú Iródotos and also simply known as Irodotos, is a Greek football club, based in Nea Alikarnassos, Heraklion. The club is named after the ancient historian Herodotus, descended from Halicarnassus, Asia Minor, whose bust is also used as the club logo. Irodotos was established in 1932 by refugees from Asia Minor, who were displaced following the Greco-Turkish War in 1922. By acclamation, Irodotos is considered the third most successful club in Heraklion in terms of achievements, due to its consistent presence in the Second and Third national divisions, but has maintained a considerable fan base, and a longstanding rivalry with local Superleague side OFI, despite the fact the two haven't met in national competitions for almost 30 years. The club currently competes in the Football League, the second tier of the Greek football league system, while also administering amateur men's football and basketball departments. In the past it also had departments for wrestling, cycling, women's football and athletics. Its colours are blue and white.
