Süper Lig is the highest level in the Turkish football league system and is operated by the TFF.

The TFF 2. Lig is the third highest level in the Turkish football league system and is operated by the TFF.

The TFF 3. Lig is the fourth highest level in the Turkish football league system and is operated by the TFF.

Promotion and relegation can occur through every league. This means a club in the Turkish Regional Amateur League may be promoted to the top flight Süper Lig. There are two stages to being promoted to the Turkish Third League. First, provinces who do not have professional clubs send a club or clubs to play. These provinces are:

The two clubs who finished first and second gain promotion. In the second stage, the rest of the amateur clubs join in and play against each other. These provinces are:

As the factory gives name to the club, the team is cited as a worker's team. The club finances collapsed during the 2017–18 Süper Lig season, setting the club on a path of constant relegation, losing almost every game as they could play nothing but amateur youth players, falling deep into the provincial amateur league system.

Kocaelispor is a Turkish football club based in İzmit, Kocaeli. They were founded in 1966 and played in the top level between 1980–1988, 1992–2003 and the 2008–09 seasons. Their best finish was in 1992–93 season, where they finished fourth. They have won the Turkish Cup twice, in 1997 and 2002. On 8 January 2015, in front of 20,152 spectators, Kocaelispor set a record for the highest attendance at a Turkish Regional Amateur League encounter.

The TFF First League, officially known as Trendyol 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the Turkish Second League Category A after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called Türk Telekom Lig A in the 2006–2007 season, and was renamed to TFF First League prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1. Lig. In April 2012 Bank Asya withdrew as sponsor of the league. During the 2012–2016 seasons the league was known under the terms of a sponsorship deal as the PTT 1. Lig. Nowadays the league is called the TFF First League once again.

TFF 2. Lig, is the third level in the Turkish football league system. It was founded in the 2001–02 season with the name of Turkish Second League Category B as a continuation of the then second level division. In the 2005–06 season the name of the league was changed to Lig B. Since the 2007–08 season the league's current name is used along with sponsor names.

The tier comprises a number of groups across Turkey, each consisting of teams grouped according to the regions in which they are based. Every season, 9 teams are promoted to the TFF Third League while the bottom two teams of each group are relegated to the Super Amateur Leagues of their respective provinces.

The world "linyit" means brown coal in Turkish language, which commemorates coal mining industry in city of Manisa. The club enjoyed their best performances while competing at TFF Second League, then-second tier league competition in Turkish football league system.
