Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow is a five-star hotel in central Moscow, built in 2002 [4] by Murad Sargsyan, a Russian-Armenian businessman. Today, it belongs to his brother Samvel Sargsyan, who was the governor of Armenia's Vayots Dzor province from 2003 to 2007 [3] and a member of the National Assembly of Armenia from 2007 to 2012 from the Republican Party of Armenia. [5]

Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow was built on the location of an Armenian restaurant from the Soviet period. The modern building encompasses elements of Armenian architecture. [6]

Vazgen Zaveni Sargsyan was an Armenian military commander and politician. He was the first Defence Minister of Armenia from 1991 to 1992 and then from 1995 to 1999. He served as Armenia's Prime Minister from 11 June 1999 until his assassination on 27 October of that year. He rose to prominence during the mass movement for the unification of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia in the late 1980s and led Armenian volunteer groups during the early clashes with Azerbaijani forces. Appointed Defence Minister by President Levon Ter-Petrosyan soon after Armenia's independence from the Soviet Union in late 1991, Sargsyan became the most prominent commander of Armenian forces during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. In different positions, he regulated the military operations in the war area until 1994, when a ceasefire was reached ending the war with the de facto unification of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic with Armenia.

The Republican Party of Armenia is a national-conservative political party in Armenia. It was the first political party in independent Armenia to be founded and registered. It is the largest party of the right-wing in Armenia, and claims to have had, at its heyday 140,000 members. After the 2018 Armenian parliamentary election, the party failed to attain the minimum 5% threshold for representation in the Armenian Parliament, and is now an extra-parliamentary opposition party.

The 2018 Armenian Revolution was a series of anti-government protests in Armenia from April to May 2018 staged by various political and civil groups led by a member of the Armenian parliament — Nikol Pashinyan. Protests and marches took place initially in response to Serzh Sargsyan's third consecutive term as the most powerful figure in the government of Armenia and later against the Republican Party-controlled government in general. Pashinyan declared it a Velvet Revolution.

Ararat Mirzoyan Armenian politician

Ararat Mirzoyan is an Armenian politician and the current President of the National Assembly of Armenia. As a founding member of the Civil Contract Party, he ran under the Way Out Alliance during the 2017 parliamentary election and was elected to represent the third electoral district, consisting of the Malatia-Sebastia and Shengavit neighbourhoods of Yerevan.
