The 2010 Archery World Cup was the fifth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The first leg was held in Porec, Croatia, the second leg at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the third leg in Ogden, Utah, United States. The final leg was held in Shanghai, China before the finals in Edinburgh, UK.
The 2011 Archery World Cup was the sixth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. The first leg was held on 2–7 May in Porec, Croatia, the second leg on 6–12 June at Antalya Centennial Archery Field in Antalya, Turkey and the third leg on 2–6 August in Ogden, Utah, United States. The final leg was held from 5–10 September in Shanghai.

Archery at the Pacific Games was first contested at the 1971 games at Papeete. It has also been included in the Pacific Mini Games, firstly at Norfolk Island in 2001 and then Port Vila in 2017.
There are 128 qualifying places available for archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics: 64 for men and 64 for women. The qualification standards were released by World Archery in March 2018. The 2020 Olympics was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The women's individual recurve archery competition at the 2018 Asian Games was held from 21 to 28 August at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex (GBK) Archery Field in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was the eleventh time the event was held as part of the Asian Games sports programme since the sport's debut in the competition in 1978. A total of 66 archers from 24 nations qualified for the event. Jung Dasomi of South Korea entered as the defending champion, having won the women's individual gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games.
Archery at the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa was held on 8–12 July 2019. The tournament was played on the outdoor target archery range at the Faleata Sports Complex in Tuanaimato, and included both recurve and compound bow events. Medals were awarded in men's and women's individual contests as well as for mixed team competitions.

It was the second time the event was held as part of the European Games archery programme. A total of 48 archers from 32 different nations entered the competition, with a maximum of three entries per country. The event offered one qualifying spot for the women's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics for any archer reaching the semi-finals from a nation that had not already qualified. The defending champion, Karina Winter of Germany, did not take part following her retirement from the sport.

Thirty-two archers from fourteen nations qualified for the event.
