Bryony Pitman (born 13 March 1997) [1] is a British archer competing in women's recurve events. She won the gold medal in the women's recurve team event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. [2] Earlier in 2019, she won the bronze medal in the women's team recurve event at the World Archery Championships held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. [1] [2] [3]

In 2014, Pitman competed in the girls' individual and mixed team events at the Summer Youth Olympics held in Nanjing, China. In the individual event, she finished in 14th place in the ranking rounds. She advanced to the elimination rounds where she was eliminated in her first match by Regina Romero of Guatemala. [4]

In 2021, Pitman represented Great Britain at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She competed in the women's individual and women's team events. She also competed at the 2021 World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. She competed in the women's recurve, women's team recurve and recurve mixed team events.

Pitman won the silver medal in the women's recurve event at the 2022 World Games held in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. [5] [6] She won the gold medal in the women's team recurve event at the 2023 European Games held in Poland. [7] She also competed in the women's individual recurve event. [7] In the same year, Pitman competed in the women's individual recurve and team recurve events at the 2023 World Archery Championships held in Berlin, Germany. [8]

The girls' individual archery event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 22 to 25 August 2014 at the Fangshan Sports Training Base in Nanjing, China. One of three recurve archery events which comprised the archery programme, it was the second time the girls' individual discipline was contested at Summer Youth Olympics. Thirty-two archers from thirty-two countries entered the competition, which was open to female archers born between 1 January 1997 and 31 December 1999. The defending champion was South Korea's Kwak Ye-ji, who was unable to defend her title due to the age limitations imposed on the event.

Patrick Huston is a British two-time Olympian archer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He captured three world championship titles under the youth level, and eventually competed as a member of the two person archery squad of Team GB at the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio, losing the first round match to the eventual champion Ku Bon-chan of South Korea. In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics his best result was a men's team 5th. Huston currently lives near Lilleshall National Sporting Centre and trained full-time under senior national coach Richard Priestman for Archery UK, while remaining a loyal founding member of East Belfast Archery Club.
