Shooting sports is a group of competitive and recreational sporting activities involving proficiency tests of accuracy, precision and speed in shooting — the art of using ranged weapons, mainly small arms and bows/crossbows.
The World Archery Federation is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

The World Archery Europe is an archery organization headquartered in Rome, Italy. It is an official governing body which provides news, calendar, history, rules, competition results, and information about member organizations. WAE is a member of World Archery since its inception in 1988. In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, World Archery Europe decided to not permit any athlete, team official, or technical official from Russia or Belarus to participate in any international archery event.
The World Archery Championships are a series of competitions in Archery organised by the World Archery Federation (WA). The first competition held under that title took place in 1931.

Albina Nikolayevna Loginova is a Russian compound archer. She was the World Archery number one in women's compound archery, achieving it on 9 July 2013. She now serves as a coach.

The Turkish organization is member of the European and Mediterranean Archery Union (EMAU) and the World Archery Federation (WAF). The 1998 European Archery Championships is the 15th edition of the European Archery Championships. The event was held in Boé/Agen, France from 17 to 23 August, 1998.
The 2023 European Indoor Archery Championships is the 19th edition of the European Indoor Archery Championships. The event will be held in Samsun, Turkey from February 19 to 24, 2023. A maximum number of three (3) athletes per country can be registered into each category and divisions of the event. This Competition will be organized following the WA and WAE competition rules in divisions Recurve, Compound and Barebow with both age categories of Senior Men and Women and Under 21 Men and Women.
