The World Archery Youth Championships, an international competition in archery, have been held in alternate years since 1991 each time in a different host city. There are events in cadet and junior categories using the recurve and compound bows.

The Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships, for fencers under 20 years of age (Junior) or under 17 years of age (cadet), are held every three years. are managed by the Commonwealth Fencing Federation

The girls' individual archery event at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 18 to 20 August 2010 at the Kallang Field in Kallang, Singapore. It was one of three recurve archery events which comprised the archery programme at the inaugural Summer Youth Olympics, and featured thirty-one archers from thirty-one countries. Entry was open to female archers born between 1 January 1992 and 31 December 1993.

Ryan Tyack is an Australian archer competing in men's recurve events at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He earned a gold medal at the 2006 Junior World Outdoor Target Championships in the male recurve cadet event. He also won a gold at the 2008 World Youth Archery Championships in the men's under-18 event. He was named to the Australian archery shadow Olympic squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics, and won the individual competition at the 2014 World Indoor Archery Championships.
