The Canoe Sprint European Championships (or European Canoe Sprint Championships) is an international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was first held in 1933 in Prague under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. In 1997, the European Championships were resumed, and now take place annually.

Contents

The most titled athlete of the European Championships is Hungarian Katalin Kovács, who has 29 gold medals, 17 silver medals and 2 bronze medals in her record. Among men, the number of wins is led by German Ronald Rauhe, who won the European championships 17 times.

The European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships is an annual international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). The Junior Championships were first held in 1995 and then every two years until 2003. The Under-23 Championships were first held in 2002 as part of the senior championships that year. Since 2004 the junior and U23 age categories are held annually together as part of the same event. Athletes under the age of 18 are eligible for the junior category.

The 2011 European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 14 to 17 July 2011 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 13th edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 9th edition for the Under 23 category. A total of 18 medal events took place. No medals were awarded for the junior women's C1 team event due to low number of participating countries. The U23 women's C1 team event did not take place.

The 2009 European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia from 22 to 26 July 2009 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA) at the Ondrej Cibak Whitewater Slalom Course. It was the 11th edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 7th edition for the Under 23 category. A total of 16 medal events took place.

The 2004 European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Kraków, Poland from 10 to 12 September 2004 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA) at the Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course. It was the 6th edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 2nd edition for the Under 23 category. It was also the first time that the two age categories had a joint European Championships. A total of 12 medal events took place. The team events were held as an open event for both junior and U23 athletes. Countries were allowed to enter two teams in each team event.

The 1997 European Junior Canoe Slalom Championships were the 2nd edition of the European Junior Canoe Slalom Championships. The event took place in Nowy Sącz, Poland from 29 to 31 August 1997 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). A total of 7 medal events took place. No medals were awarded for the men's C2 team event due to low number of participating countries.

The 2019 European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia from 4 to 7 July 2019 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA) at the Ondrej Cibak Whitewater Slalom Course. It was the 21st edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 17th edition for the Under 23 category. A total of 16 medal events took place, 8 in each of the two age categories.

The 2018 Canoe Sprint European Championships was the 30th edition of the Canoe Sprint European Championships, an international sprint canoe/kayak and paracanoe event organised by the European Canoe Association, and was held in Belgrade, Serbia, between 8 and 10 June.

At the 2019 European Games in Minsk, sixteen medal events in canoe sprint were contested between 25 and 27 June 2019, of which five are Canadian canoe events and eleven are kayak events.

The 2019 Paracanoe European Championships was held in Poznań, Poland, from 21 to 22 May 2019. This event, which is usually part of the Canoe Sprint European Championships, was held separately as the ECA chose not to organise said event because of the European Games.

The 2021 European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Solkan, Slovenia from 19 to 22 August 2021 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 23rd edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 19th edition for the Under 23 category. Solkan hosted the championships for the 5th time.
