The World Field Archery Championships is an international competition in field archery. Organised by World Archery, the Championships are held every two years, in host cities most frequently in Europe but occasionally in Australasia or North America.

Naomi Anne Folkard is a British archer who has represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games five times between 2004 and 2020. She has also represented Great Britain at the World Archery Championships and the Archery World Cup, and England at the Commonwealth Games.
Archery had its debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics and has been contested in 18 Olympiads. 105 nations have competed in the Olympic archery events, with France appearing the most often at 15 times. The most noticeable trend has been the excellence of South Korean archers, who have won 32 out of 44 gold medals in archery events since 1984. He holds the record for the longest continuous period as the world number-one-ranked men's recurve archer, from August 2011 to April 2013. He earned his nickname "The Prospector" during the 2015 world championships due to his proclivity for 'finding gold'.

Slovenia competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, in Nanjing, China from 16 August to 28 August 2014.
Spain will compete at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, in Nanjing, China from 16 August to 28 August 2014.
Germany competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. The first places the team qualified were for four athletes in sailing events. They also qualified athletes in archery, cycling, equestrian, paracanoeing, paratriathlon, rowing and wheelchair basketball.
The World Indoor Archery Championships, an international competition in archery, were held in alternate years from 1991, to 2018, each time in a different host city and organized by the World Archery Federation (WA). There were events in adult and junior categories using the recurve and compound bows.
China has qualified to send athletes to the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. Sports China competed in include blind football, archery, boccia, cycling, goalball, judo, paracanoeing, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball.
