Archery at the Summer Olympics

Archery had its debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics and has been contested in 16 Olympiads. Eighty-four nations have competed in the Olympic archery events, with France appearing the most often at 31 times. The most noticeable trend has been the excellence of South Korean archers, who have won 26 out of 37 gold medals in events since 1984. It is governed by the World Archery Federation. Recurve archery is the only discipline of archery featured at the Olympic Games. Archery is also an event at the Summer Paralympics.

The World Archery Federation is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee.

Bombayla Devi Laishram Indian archer

Bombayla Devi Laishram is an Indian archer. A member of the national recurve team representing India at the international events since 2007, she has won a silver medal at the World Archery Championships, and four gold, five silver, and four bronze medals at various editions of the Archery World Cup. Laishram peaked at no. 14 in the world rankings in March 2009.

Deepika Kumari Indian archer and Olympian

Deepika Kumari Mahato is an Indian professional archeress. Currently ranked the World No. 1, she competes in the event of archery. She won a gold medal in the 2010 Commonwealth games in the women's individual recurve event. She also won a gold medal in the same competition in the women's team recurve event along with Dola Banerjee and Bombayala Devi.She has won individual gold in two of the three stages of the World Cup--one in Guatemala and another in Paris. In the process she also reclaimed the number one ranking after nine years in Paris World Cup. Deepika Kumari won individual gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 1. Deepika Kumari also defeated Mexico by 5-1 in the final to win gold in Paris.

Asian Archery Championships is the archery championship organized by the World Archery Asia.

Kim Woo-jin South Korean archer

Kim Woojin is a South Korean archer who first held the world number one ranking in 2011 and held the world record in men's individual recurve archery. He is a student, and lives in Chungju. He is right-handed, and uses 30-inch (76 cm) arrows and a draw weight of 46 pounds (21 kg). At the 2016 Summer Olympics. he won his first Olympic gold medal as a member of the South Korean men's archery team, who defeated the United States in the men's team archery final.

2013 World Archery Championships

The 2013 World Archery Championships was the 47th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Belek in the Antalya Province of Turkey from September 29 to October 6, 2013, and was organised by World Archery (FITA). It will be immediately preceded by the 50th World Archery congress in the same location. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Papillon Sports Centre in nearby Kadriye, with the medal matches on 5–6 October on the beach of Belek.

The World Archery Rankings is a ranking system developed by the World Archery Federation for international competitive archery. It is calculated using a points system and published following major World Archery tournaments.

2015 World Archery Championships

The 2015 World Archery Championships was the 48th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark from 26 July to 2 August 2015 and was organised by World Archery. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Sundby Idrætspark, with the medal matches on 1–2 August outside the Danish Parliament building Christiansborg Palace. The competition was preceded by the World Archery Congress on 24–25 July.

Atanu Das is an Indian archer. He represents India in the Recurve Men's Individual and Team events. He made his international debut in 2008. His current world ranking is 9 as of 22 July 2021.

The 2018 World Archery Championships was the 14th edition of the World Indoor Archery Championships. The event was held in Yankton, United States from 14 February to 19 February 2018 and was organised by World Archery. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center.

World Para Archery Championship, was first held in 1998 in the UK and take place every two years.

There are 128 qualifying places available for archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics: 64 for men and 64 for women. The qualification standards were released by World Archery in March 2018. The 2020 Olympics was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Womens individual Womens individual events at the Olympics

The women's individual archery event is one of 5 archery events held at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It is being held at Yumenoshima Park. There are 64 competitors from 40 nations, with each nation having either 1 or 3 archers.

The 2019 World Archery Championships were held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands from June 10 to June 16, 2019. The event served as a qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, with each men's and women's team that made the quarter-finals earning three quota places for the respective team. There were also quota places for the top four individuals in the singles competition, for those who failed to get quotas in the team events.

Kang Chae-young South Korean archer

Kang Chae-young is a South Korean archer competing in women's recurve events. She has won numerous medals in archery competitions.
