The World Archery Championships are a series of competitions in Archery organised by the World Archery Federation (WA). The first competition held under that title took place in 1931.

Peter Elzinga, is a Dutch former athlete who competed in compound archery. His achievements include becoming the world number one ranked archer in 2004, which position he held for 384 days, and breaking the world record 1440 round with 1419 points in 2009.

Mike Schloesser is a compound archer from the Netherlands. In 2015, he was the first person to hit a perfect 600/600, hence his nickname Mister Perfect. In December 2023 he surpassed Sara López as the longest-tenured world number one. Both had been in the top three since the beginning of the 2015 season. Schloesser had been holding the number one position in the world ranking since 24 May 2021. In March 2024 he broke the record for the longest consecutive days ranked number one.

The women's individual recurve competition at the 2015 World Archery Championships took place from 27 July to 2 August 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The defending champion from the 2013 championship was Maja Jager of Denmark.

Daniel Betancur Martinez is a male recurve archer from Colombia. He competed at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark as well as the 2015 World Archery Youth Championships in Yankton, South Dakota.

Mete Gazoz is a Turkish recurve archer. He won the gold medal in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Turkey at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the 2023 World Archery Championships held in Berlin, Mete Gazoz emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Individual title. In an intense final, he triumphed over the skilled Canadian archer Eric Peters, securing his place as the first Turkish archer to achieve the esteemed recurve gold medal in a World Championship.

Yasemin Ecem Anagöz is a Turkish recurve archer.

Darrel Wilson is a Northern Irish male compound archer and part of the Irish national team. He has represented Northern Ireland at numerous British Championships at both junior and senior level. He has participated in the 2013 World Archery Championships in Antalya, the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, the World Field Championships in Dublin 2016 and Italy in 2018 and the World Archery 3D Championships in Italy 2022. He also holds multiple National records and has won numerous National titles in Target and Field Archery. Darrel was British Field Champion in 2016. Darrel has competed at the Commonwealth Games, Archery World Cups, World target championships, European Championships, World Field Championships and World 3D Championships. Darrel has won the Northern Irish Indoor and Outdoor Championships more times than any other archer.

World Para Archery Championship was first held in 1998 in the UK and take place every two years.

Tatiana Andreoli is an Italian recurve archer. At the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus, she won the gold medal in the women's individual recurve event.

Steve Wijler is a Dutch archer competing in men's recurve events. He won the bronze medal in the men's individual recurve event at the 2017 World Archery Championships held in Mexico City, Mexico. In 2021, Wijler and Gabriela Schloesser won the silver medal in the mixed team event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Bryony Michaela Pitman is a British archer competing in women's recurve events. She won the gold medal in the women's recurve team event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. Earlier in 2019, she won the bronze medal in the women's team recurve event at the World Archery Championships held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Anton Bulaev is a Russian archer competing in men's compound events. He won, alongside Natalia Avdeeva, the gold medal in the mixed team compound event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus.

Sanne de Laat is a Dutch archer competing in women's compound events. She won the silver medal in the women's team event and the bronze medal in the women's individual event at the 2021 European Archery Championships held in Antalya, Turkey.

The 2022 Archery European Indoor Championships took place in Laško, Slovenia from 14 to 19 February 2022. At the European Archery Indoor Championships was debuted the barebow discipline. Events staged in each of the three disciplines in the senior and under-21 age brackets.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 World Para Archery Championships</span>

The 13th World Para Archery Championships took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 19 to 27 February 2022. Originally the event was to take place in 2021 but it was delayed until 2022 by COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time the switch to a two-archer doubles format rather than three-archer teams for the single-gender competitions. Athletes from China were unable to travel due to ongoing pandemic restrictions. This was the biggest parasport event in Dubai since the city hosted the World Para Athletics Championships in 2019.

Ella Gibson is a British archer competing in compound events. She won the gold medal in the women's compound event at the 2024 European Archery Championships held in Essen, Germany. She won the gold medal in her event at the 2022 European Indoor Archery Championships held in Laško, Slovenia.

Lisell Jäätma is an Estonian archer competing in compound events. Jäätma and Robin Jäätma won the gold medal in the mixed team compound event at the 2023 European Games held in Poland.

Elisa Roner is an Italian archer competing in compound events. She won the gold medal in the women's compound event at the 2023 European Games held in Poland. She won the silver medal in her event at the 2024 European Archery Championships held in Essen, Germany.
