WDSF World Formation Latin Championships

The WDSF World Formation Latin Championship is the main annual formation International Latin dancesport championship worldwide.

Dancesport ballroom dancing as a sport

Dancesport denotes competitive ballroom dancing, as contrasted to social or exhibition dancing. In the case of wheelchair dancesport, at least one of the dancers is in a wheelchair.

Algirdas Šocikas Soviet Lithuanian boxer

Algirdas Šocikas was a Lithuanian amateur heavyweight boxer who won the European title in 1953 and 1955 and finished fifth at the 1952 Olympics. He won six Soviet, six Lithuanian and three Baltic championships. After retiring in 1957 he worked as a boxing coach in Kaunas and raised the Olympic medalists Ričardas Tamulis and Jonas Čepulis, among others. He died in Kaunas, aged 84, and was buried in Petrašiūnai Cemetery.

He was the ten-dance world semi-finalist 2006 in amateurs, the winner of the Austrian TV program Dancing Stars in 2012 and 2014, and professional world champion in Latin and Standard show dance 2015-2017.
