The IBA Men's World Boxing Championships are biennial amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (IBA, previously known as AIBA), which is the sport governing body. [1] [2] Alongside the Olympic boxing programme, they are the highest level of competition for the sport. The championships were first held for men in 1974. [3] Since 1989 the men's championships are held every odd year.

Notes
  1. 1 2 1986 silver medalists Luis Román Rolón (48 kg, Puerto Rico) and Loren Ross (81 kg, United States) were disqualified for doping and stripped of their medals, which were not transferred to other athletes.
  2. At the 2021 championships, in accordance with a ban by WADA and a decision by CAS, Russian boxers were not permitted to use the Russian name, flag, or anthem. They instead participated as the Russian Boxing Federation and under the Russian Olympic Committee flag.
  3. At the 2021 championships, in accordance with a ban by WADA, Thai boxers participated as the Thailand Boxing Federation, under the AIBA flag.

The England Boxing National Amateur Championships previously known as the ABA Championships is the premier boxing tournament hosted annually by England Boxing. The Championships are 'open' class: any boxer who is registered with a club registered with England Boxing can enter.

In boxing, a weight class is a measurement weight range for boxers. The lower limit of a weight class is equal to the upper weight limit of the class below it. The top class, with no upper limit, is called heavyweight in professional boxing and super heavyweight in amateur boxing. A boxing match is usually scheduled for a fixed weight class, and each boxer's weight must not exceed the upper limit. Although professional boxers may fight above their weight class, an amateur boxer's weight must not fall below the lower limit. A nonstandard weight limit is called a catchweight.

The boxing tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 24 July to 8 August 2021 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. Thirteen events were staged, the same number as in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. However, for the first time since the London Games, the programme has been updated, with the number of men's events reduced by two and the number of women's events increased by the same number.

Ting Chen also known as Kyle Chen, is an amateur boxer residing from New Zealand. Chen has competed in New Zealand, Taiwan, Australia, Junior World Championship in Russia and Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas. Chen's most notable title is winning a bronze medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games.

The 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships were held in Belgrade, Serbia from 25 October to 6 November. Belgrade was picked to host the championships for the second time; the original 2021 contract with New Delhi was cancelled due to a disagreement between AIBA and the Boxing Federation of India over hosting fees. AIBA also demanded the BFI pay a cancellation penalty of US$500,000.

He was bronze medalist at the World Championship (2021), champion at the World Military Games (2019), and has won multiple international and national amateur tournaments. He was a finalist at the team semi-professional tournament Boxing League Intercontinental Cup.

The IBA Women's World Boxing Championships are biennial amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association, which is the sport governing body. The first women's championships were held over 25 years later in 2001.
