The European Union Amateur Boxing Championships is a competition for amateur boxers from the European Union and its candidate countries (thus Turkey is a leading participant). The championships are organised by the continent's governing body, the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC). The first edition of the men's tournament took place in 2003 in Strasbourg, France and the women's in 2006 in Porto Torres, Italy. The men's tournament was held annually from 2003 to 2009 and every four years since 2014, while the women's tournament was held annually from 2006 to 2011 and every four years since 2013.
In 2008 AIBA changed names of age groups (Junior->Youth, Cadet->Junior).

The European Amateur Boxing Championships is the highest competition for boxing amateurs in Europe, organised by the continent's governing body EUBC, which stands for the European Boxing Confederation. The first edition of the tournament took place in 1924, although the first 'competitive' championships were hosted by the city of Stockholm (Sweden) in 1925.
Keith Tapia is a Puerto Rican professional boxer. He was born in Bronx, New York, where he lived his childhood as part of the large Nuyorican community; he began boxing there and represented the United States for few international tournaments, in the process winning bronze at the 2006 Cadet World Championships. In 2007, Tapia appealed to his Puerto Rican heritage and ethnicity and changed his Olympic nationality, representing Puerto Rico until his amateur retirement in 2011. Under the Puerto Rican flag, he won gold at the 2007 AIBA Cadet World Championships and other international tournaments, while winning the heavyweight national championship locally. On November 18, 2011, Tapia made his professional debut, now boxing out of Carolina, Puerto Rico.
Yasnier Toledo López is a Cuban amateur boxer from Pinar del Río who won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the PanAm lightweight title in 2011. He is a southpaw.
The IBA Youth World Boxing Championships and the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships are amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (IBA), the sport's governing body, for "Youth" competitors—ages 17 or 18 years old (U19), and for "Junior" competitors—ages 15 or 16 years old (U17), respectively. The Youth world championship began in 1979 in Yokohama, Japan, and has been held biennially since 1990. The Junior world championship began in 2001 in Baku, Azerbaijan, and has been held biennially since 2007.
The African Amateur Boxing Championships is the premier pan-continental annual competition for amateur boxing in Africa. The championships are organised by the continent's governing body, the African Boxing Union (ABU). The first edition of the tournament took place in 1962.

The 2010 Women's European Union Amateur Boxing Championships were held in the Hotel Helikon in Keszthely, Hungary from August 4 to August 7. The 5th edition of this annual competition was organised by the European governing body for amateur boxing, the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC). 107 fighters from 21 federations competed in 11 weight divisions.
The 2009 Women's European Union Amateur Boxing Championships were held in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria from June 24 to 28. The event, an annual competition, was the fourth since its conception. It was organised by the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) and 62 fighters from 12 federations participated in 11 weight divisions.

Rajendra Prasad is a retired boxer from India. He competed in the Light flyweight (48 kg) division during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and was ranked as high as 7th. In 1992, the Indian government gave him Arjuna Award for his achievements in international boxing.
