Bilateral diplomatic relations exist between Armenia and Tajikistan. The two countries are in a number of international and regional organizations, such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Union. Armenia is represented in Tajikistan through its embassy in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and has an honorary consulate in Dushanbe. Tajikistan is represented in Armenia through its embassy in Moscow, Russia. There is a small community of Armenians in Tajikistan, with many of the original population having left the country following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the following civil war in Tajikistan.
The first Armenians are believed to have arrived in Tajikistan in the 1930s. [1] Many anti-Armenian prejudice occurred by the start of the 1990s, such as the 1990 Dushanbe riots which were sparked by an unfounded rumour that Armenian refugees would be resettled there and get free housing during a housing shortages. [2]
Diplomatic relations were established on 12 October 1992. The founding document for diplomatic relations was the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Armenia. [3]
There is currently one Armenian cultural union in the country, called the Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Community formed in Dushanbe in 1989. It was founded and led by honored coach of the Tajik SSR Telman Gurgen Voskanyan for 20 years. [4] An Armenian day school and dance ensemble were founded in 2009. [5]
Coordinating economic relations between Tajikistan and Armenia is the Tajik-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. In 1994, the volume of foreign trade turnover was equal to 239,000 US dollars. In 2000, it amounted to only 1,000 dollars. [6] In 2014, the volume of trade between the countries amounted to almost 1 million US dollars. [7]

Since its independence, Armenia has maintained a policy of trying to have positive and friendly relations with Iran, Russia, and the West, including the United States and the European Union. It has full membership status in a number of international organizations, such as the Council of Europe and the Eurasian Economic Union, and observer status, etc. in some others. However, the dispute over the Armenian genocide of 1915 and the ongoing Nagorno-Karabakh conflict have created tense relations with two of its immediate neighbors, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The president of Tajikistan is the head of state and de facto head of government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The president heads the executive branch of the country's government and is the commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.
Russia–Senegal relations are the bilateral foreign relations between Russia and Senegal. Russian has an embassy in Dakar and Senegal has an embassy in Moscow.
The Republic of Uzbekistan has an embassy in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan has an embassy in Tashkent. Both countries were previously subordinated republics of the Soviet Union as Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic and Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic before its collapse in 1991.

Visitors to Tajikistan must obtain a visa from one of the Tajikistan diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or countries whose citizens are eligible for an electronic visa.
The Tajik Ground Forces, known officially as the Ground Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan are the land forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan. Formed during the Tajik Civil War, it makes up about 70 percent of the country's Armed Forces.
The Border Troops, also called the Border Service, is the border guard of Tajikistan. Functioning under the State Committee for National Security as part of the Armed Forces, the border guards are trained by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, along with the Afghan Border Police. A higher education college is located in the capital, Dushanbe, the Border Troops Academy, and a Border Troops Training Centre is located south of it, in the Rudaki District. The main control station of the border troops is the Border Management Center of the Main Border Guard Directorate of the SCNS.
Dr. Shukhrat Muzafarovich Sultonov is a Tajik politician and diplomat. Sultonov was the chief of Presidential Administration for Emomali Rahmon from October 2001 to December 2003.

The Order of Ismoili Somoni is Tajikistan's highest distinction. It is named after Isma'il ibn Ahmad, also known as Ismoili Somoni.
The Tajikistan Independence Day Military Parade is the main event of the Independence Day of Tajikistan. This parade is held every 5 years in Dushanbe on September 9. The participants in the parade are from agencies of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan. The parade route is made up of Rudaki Avenue, Dousti Square and Hofizi Sherozi Avenue.

Ukraine–Tajikistan relations refers to the bilateral diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan. Diplomatic relations were established on April 24, 1993. Bilateral relations are based on a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and Ukraine, signed on July 6, 2001. Tajik students have been trained in higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
Relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan began on 7 January 1993. Both counties are members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Kazakhstan maintains an embassy in Dushanbe. The current Tajikistan ambassador to Kazakhstan is Akbarsho Iskandrov.
