Øverbygd is a former municipality in Troms county in Norway. The 2,152-square-kilometre (831 sq mi) municipality existed from 1925 until its dissolution in 1964. It was located in what is now the eastern part of Målselv Municipality, stretching from the border with Sweden in the east, through the Dividalen and Rostadalen valleys to the Målselva river and the eastern part of the Målselvdalen valley. The administrative centre was the village of Skjold. Skjold was the site of the local church, Øverbygd Church as well as home to a large garrison for the Norwegian Army. Øvre Dividal National Park made up a large part of the southeastern part of the municipality.

Kittelsen was part of the poetic action group "Stuntpoetene" during the 1980s, along with Jón Sveinbjørn Jónsson, Triztán Vindtorn, Arne Ruste, Thorvald Steen, Karin Moe, Torgeir Rebolledo Pedersen and others.
Harald Rosenløw Eeg is a Norwegian novelist and script writer. He made his literary début in 1995 with the youth novel Glasskår, for which he was awarded the Tarjei Vesaas' debutantpris. Eeg also wrote the script for a film with the same name from 2002. He wrote the script for Hawaii, Oslo, directed by Erik Poppe and released in 2004, and for the film Uro from 2006, directed by Stefan Faldbakken. The 2008 film Troubled Water, directed by Poppe, was based on a script by Eeg. The film won the audience prize for best narrative feature film at the 16th Hamptons International Film Festival in 2008.

The Half Brother is a 2001 novel by the Norwegian writer Lars Saabye Christensen. The story follows a man who grows up in Oslo after World War II, with his mother, grandmother, great grandmother and half brother. The novel was published in Norwegian by Cappelen in 2001, and in English for the first time in 2003. It received the Brage Prize and the Nordic Council Literature Prize. A television series based on the novel was broadcast on NRK in 2013.
Brit Bildøen is a Norwegian poet, novelist, essayist, children's writer and literary critic. She was born in Ålesund. She made her literary debut in 1991 with the poetry collection Bilde av menn. Her first novel, Eit anna eple, was published in 1992. In 1998 she was awarded the Nynorsk Literature Prize.

His children's books include God natt, lille abbor from 2006, and Lammet som ikke ville bli lår from 2011. He was awarded the Dobloug Prize in 2013.
Vegard Vigerust was a Norwegian novelist and poet. He was born in Dovre. He made his literary debut in 1954 with the satirical novel Stålstuten. Further books include the novels Guten som ville kjøpe Norsk rikskringkasting from 1957, Sæval (1966), and Mikla (1970), and the poetry collections Istid from 1972, Jord (1975), Skimt (1978), and Strender (1982). His novel Stålstuten was basis for a play which was staged at Det Norske Teatret. He contributed with lyrics to the albums Syng Dovre (1998) and Troillspel (2001) by the band Østenfor Sol.
Outlier is a Norwegian eight-part television crime drama, which premiered on November 18, 2020 on HBO Nordic. In Australia it was broadcast on SBS-TV's streaming service, On Demand from April 2, 2021. Outlier was created and scripted by Kristine Berg and Arne Berggren. Berg and Berggren co-directed all episodes, assisted by Ken Are Bongo as co-director for three episodes. It was filmed in Troms and Finnmark regions from July 2020 for Shuuto Arctic and distributed by REinvent. Outlier's main protagonist, Maja Angell investigates the murder of a young woman, who was found in Maja's fictitious home village, Nerbygd, northern Norway. Nerbygd police chief, Johan quickly arrests a suspect – case closed. Maja believes police have the wrong man and returns to Nerbygd to determine whether the perpetrator is a serial killer.
