Arne Mastekaasa

Arne Mastekaasa (born 1955) is a Norwegian sociologist.

He graduated from the University of Oslo with a mag.art. degree (PhD equivalent) in 1981, and took the dr.philos. degree in 1993. For a period he was a researcher at the Institute for Social Research, but he was hired at the University of Oslo in 1990 and is now a professor. [1]

He has been the editor of Acta Sociologica from 1995 to 1997 and since 2010, and Sosiologisk tidsskrift from 2006 to 2009. He has been an editorial board member of Social Indicators Research from 1987 to 2003, Tidsskrift for samfunnsforskning from 1990 to 1993 and Journal of Marriage and Family from 2003 to 2005. He was selected to the European Academy of Sociology in 2009 [1] and the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in 2011. [2]

Odd Arne Westad FBA is a Norwegian historian specializing in the Cold War and contemporary East Asian history. He is the Elihu Professor of History and Global Affairs at Yale University, where he teaches in the Yale History Department and in the Jackson School of Global Affairs. He did research on labor and wages, and spent the better part of his academic career at the Norwegian Institute for Social Research and the University of Oslo. He was a professor until 2009, when he was found dead in his home under uncertain circumstances.

Agnes Bolsø is a Norwegian sociologist and expert on gender studies, particularly studies of sexuality. She is Associate Professor of Sociology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and was director of its Centre for Gender Studies from 2005 to 2007. She was editor of Tidsskrift for kjønnsforskning from 2009 to 2011.

Bjørn Erik Rasch is an alumnus of the University of Oslo (1982), where he has been a Professor since 1994. He was a researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Social Research 1990–94. He was formerly joint editor of Norsk Statsvitenskapelig Tidsskrift. He has been guest lecturer at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), Harvard University and Columbia University.
