Arrows were an Australian band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in August 2006. The band has released two albums, an EP and two split releases. The line-up consists of Anthony Morgan (guitars, keyboard, vocals), Carl Burnett (bass) Anders Cairns (drums) and Scott Merillo (guitar).

Don't Write Poetry

In Spring of 2006, Arrows self recorded their debut EP Don't Write Poetry under Burnett's Indoor Children label as a limited release.

The release is titled after and features excerpts from various Charles Bukowski works.

Split 12" – These Hands Could Separate the Sky

After touring with These Hands Could Separate the Sky, the two bands recorded a split 12" record which was originally released in October 2007 by Indoor Children, later to be re-released on CDep / digital by Hobbledehoy Record Co. [1]

Modern Art & Politics

In November 2008, Hobbledehoy Record Co released the band's debut full-length Modern Art & Politics. [2] Recorded by David Williams and the band themselves at Via Studios and in various apartments across Brisbane, it was later mixed by Samuel Johnson and mastered by Doug van Sloun (Bright Eyes, Cursive, The Gloria Record), the record flooded "Best of 2008" lists and received praising reviews from all across the world. In July 2012, the song Whores Will Have Their Trinkets from Modern Art & Politics was used in the Parkway Drive Home is for the Heartless DVD. Debuting at #1 on the ARIA Music DVD charts and reaching Gold status in its first week of sales, the DVD would go on to reach Platinum status shortly after. [9]

Try & Stay Upright

Winter of 2010 saw the band record Try & Stay Upright, [10] again using the familiar faces of David Williams, Samuel Johnson and Doug van Sloun for its recording, mixing and mastering respectively. The record was released on multiple formats on Hobbledehoy Record Co 20 September 2010. [11]

The record was again met with positive reviews across Australia and worldwide. [12] [13] [14]

Split 7" – Empire! Empire!

Released on 4 September 2012 with North American friends Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) as a collaboration between the band's respective longtime labels Hobbledehoy Record Co and Count Your Lucky Stars Records, this was the fifth release for Arrows. This Split 7" [15] was a long time coming after years of contact between the two bands.

The artwork features Bodhi Thomas, family pet of a close friend to Arrows.

Disbandment

After announcing their break-up some years earlier, Arrows again regrouped to join emo heavyweights Mineral on their national Australian Tour. This run of shows has proven to be their last.

The album was recorded by Jay Van Poederooyen and produced by Brian Howes at Van Howes Studios in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The record was mixed by Chris Lord-Alge at Mix LA in Tarzana, California, USA. It has a much heavier glam metal and a lesser post-grunge influence than their last album, while retaining the elements of hard rock that the band had previously used. Don't Close Your Eyes is an EP by Australian metalcore band Parkway Drive, released on 1 June 2004. It was later re-released with the addition of tracks included from both their split album with I Killed the Prom Queen and from the compilation albums What We've Built and True Till Death, Volume I. Two songs, "Smoke 'Em If Ya Got 'Em" and "Hollow Man", were re-recorded and released on Parkway Drive's debut album Killing with a Smile and 2010 album Deep Blue, respectively. "Hollow Man" is released as just "Hollow" on Deep Blue, and features Marshall Lichtenwaldt, the vocalist of American hardcore punk band the Warriors.

I Killed the Prom Queen / Parkway Drive or Split CD is a four-track split extended play released by Australian metalcore bands Parkway Drive and I Killed the Prom Queen in May 2003 on Final Prayer Records. The two tracks by Parkway Drive were later re-released as bonus tracks on the reissue version of their solo EP, Don't Close Your Eyes, in 2006. Split CD was Parkway Drive's first release, and I Killed the Prom Queen's second.

Empire! Empire! was an American emo band from Michigan. It was formed in 2006 originally as a solo project of band member Keith Latinen. The band's music is most often described as emotional indie rock reminiscent of '90s emo bands such as Mineral and American Football. The band's first release was in 2007 with an EP titled When The Sea Became A Giant. The band released a full-length album, What It Takes To Move Forward, in 2009. The band is signed to Count Your Lucky Stars Records and has released albums on a number of other labels, such as strictly no capital letters (UK), Topshelf Records, Stiff Slack (Japan), and Hobbledehoy Record Co (Australia). The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band was signed to Fearless Records since their formation. In 2022, they changed their label and signed to Thriller Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith, guitarist Jose DelRio, and drummer Daniel Nelson. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with no founding members remaining. Their second EP, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.

Goin' Your Way is a live album collaboration recorded by Neil Finn and Paul Kelly during a performance at the Sydney Opera House on 10 March 2013. It was released on 8 November as a stand-alone 2× CD, Blu-ray or DVD; or in a Limited Edition Deluxe version with all three formats. From 18 February to 18 March, Finn and Kelly undertook a joint tour of Australia, they performed tracks from their respective careers, including re-interpreting each other's work. The CD album peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart while the DVD reached No. 1 on the related Music DVD Chart.

The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit is the second studio album by Australian rock band Dune Rats. It was released on 20 January 2017 by Ratbag Records and Dine Alone Records. It was produced by Zac Carper of American punk band FIDLAR. It debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart in February 2017, which was achieved after heavy touring across Australia, including at the Laneway Festival.
