Arsalan Taj Hussain aka Arsalan Taj Ghumman is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023. [2]
He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from Constituency PS-102 (Karachi East-IV) in 2018 Pakistani general election. [3]
In March 2023,Arsalan Taj was picked up by police men in plain cloths from his residence. [4] He was later produced in the court after passing of 24 hours. He was booked in couple of FIRs as claimed by the Sindh Government. [5] He was sent on physical remand as requested by the Sindh Police in the court. [6] Chairman PTI and Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan also criticised the arrest of Arsalan Taj in a tweet. [7] Arsalan Taj was granted bail by the ATC court on 22nd March 2023. [8]
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a political party in Pakistan established in 1996 by Pakistani cricketer and politician Imran Khan,who served as the country's prime minister from 2018 to 2022. The PTI ranks among the three major Pakistani political parties alongside the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML–N) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP),and it is the largest party in terms of representation in the National Assembly of Pakistan since the 2018 general election. With over 10 million members in Pakistan and abroad,it claims to be the country's largest political party by primary membership,as well as one of the largest political parties in the world.
Sardar Nabil Ahmed Gabol is a Pakistani politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 2024. Previously he had been a member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2015 and a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996. He served as Minister of State for Ports and Shipping from 2008 to 2011 and as Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly from 1993 to 1996.
Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi is a Pakistani politician who served as the 13th President of Pakistan,in office from 9 September 2018 to 10 March 2024. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 and again from August to September 2018. Alvi was a dentist before entering politics in 1979,when he joined Jamaat-e-Islami (Pakistan),but resigned later on from the party and then joined former cricketer Imran Khan's party in 1996 and is amongst the founding members of PTI.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif is a Pakistani politician,currently serving as the 20th Chief Minister of Punjab,in office since 26 February 2024. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and her initial involvement in public life was through her family’s philanthropic organisations. However,her political career began in earnest in 2012 when she took charge of the election campaign for the 2013 general elections. Following the elections,she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme in 2013. Despite her active role,she resigned from the position in 2014 after her appointment was legally challenged in the Lahore High Court.
General elections were held in Pakistan on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),led by Imran Khan,the Pakistan Muslim League,led by Shehbaz Sharif,and the Pakistan People's Party,led by Bilawal Bhutto. The PTI won the most seats in the National Assembly but fell short of a majority;the party subsequently formed a coalition government with several smaller parties. At the provincial level,the PTI remained the largest party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP);the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retained its dominance in Sindh;and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party in Balochistan. In Punjab,the result was a hung parliament,with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) winning the most seats. However,after several independent MPAs joined the PTI,the latter became the largest party and was able to form a government.
Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the 18th Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,in office since 2 March 2024. He served as the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan from 5 October 2018 to 10 April 2022. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023.

Syed Ali Haider Zaidi is a Pakistani politician who served as the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs from 11 September 2018 to 10 April 2022. He previously served as the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Sindh chapter until he joined Jahangir Khan Tareen's Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) party. He has been previously also remained a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 to January 2023.
Muhammad Abdur Rauf Siddiqui is a Pakistani politician who had been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh,since August 2013. Previously he had been a Member of the Provincial Sindh Assembly from 2002 to 2013 and remained a member of the Sindh provincial cabinet in various positions between 2002 and 2012.
Abdul Aleem Khan is a Pakistani politician and businessman from Lahore. Abdul Aleem Khan currently serves as a member of the National Assembly after being elected from Constituency NA 117,Shahdara Lahore in the general elections held on February 8th 2024. Abdul Aleem Khan owns Samaa TV and Vision Group. He was also the Senior Minister of Punjab and Minister of Food from 2020 to 2021. He also served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from August 2018 to 2021. He announced his separation from politics on Twitter in a tweet. Later in a statement to the media,he said that he had no intentions of joining politics again and that he would focus on the welfare work done through the Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation but soon after the economic crisis and instability in Pakistan,he decided to join politics again and launched the political party along with renowned politician Jahangir Khan Tareen named the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party in June 2023. He is a founding member and president of the party.

Imran Ismail is a Pakistani businessman and politician He served as the 21st governor of Sindh from 27 August 2018 to 18 April 2022. Before being appointed Governor of Sindh,he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh for a brief period in August 2018.
Haleem Adil Sheikh is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023,and had served as Leader of the Opposition of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from January 2021 to July 2023. Sheikh served as the parliamentary leader of PTI in Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to January 2021,and was the president of PTI for Sindh from 21 July 2019 to 25 December 2021.

Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Punjab on 8 February 2024 to elect a new provincial legislature. On 5 August 2023,the results of the 2023 digital census were approved by the Council of Common Interests headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Therefore,elections have been delayed for several months,as new delimitations will be published on 14 December 2023,as announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). On 2 November 2023,the ECP announced,in agreement with the President of Pakistan,Arif Alvi,that the elections will be held on 8 February 2024. This election will be held concurrently with nationwide general elections and other provincial elections.
