Arshad Iqbal Burki (born 15 March 1984 in Peshawar, Pakistan) is a Pakistani squash player. Burki is former Pakistan national squash champion and an Asian junior team gold medalist. His highest world ranking was #52 in January 2004. [1]

The Battle of Lahore, also referred to as the Lahore Front, constitutes a series of battles fought in and around the Pakistani city of Lahore during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. The battle ended in a victory for India, as it was able to thrust through and hold key choke points in Pakistan while having gained around 360 to 500 square kilometres of territory. Indian forces halted their assault on Lahore once they had captured the village of Burki on its outskirts. The rationale for this was that a ceasefire−negotiated by the United States and the Soviet Union−was to be signed soon, and had India captured Lahore, It would have most likely been returned to the process of ceasefire negotiations.

The team is officially termed the Second Pakistanis as it was their second tour of England, following their inaugural tour in 1954. The Battle of Burki was a battle fought by Indian infantry and Pakistani armour in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Burki is a village, that lies south-east of Lahore near the border with Punjab, just 11 km from the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, and is connected to Lahore by the a bridge over the Bambawali-Ravi-Bedian (BRB) Canal. During the battle, the strength of the two sides were relatively even and Indian infantry clashed with Pakistani forces that were entrenched in pillboxes, dug-outs and slit trenches that had been carved into the canal banks. The Pakistanis were supported by a large number of tanks, as well as fighter jets. The battle resulted in an Indian victory.

Arshad Sharif was a Pakistani journalist, writer, and television news anchor. He specialised in investigative journalism and covered many political events in the country for national and international news organisations, including the United Kingdom. On 23 March 2019, he was awarded the Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, for his contributions to journalism. He was shot and killed by police in Kenya on 23 October 2022.

Arshad Nadeem is a Pakistani javelin thrower. He represents WAPDA in the domestic competition. He is the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of any track and field event at the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships. At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he created a new national and Commonwealth Games record with a throw of 90.18m and became the first ever athlete from South Asia to breach the 90m mark. In 2023, he became the first ever Pakistani athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships, by winning a silver medal.

Arshad Iqbal is a Pakistani cricketer. He made his international debut for the Pakistan cricket team in April 2021.
