State Route 104 (SR 104) is a 31.75-mile-long (51.10 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Washington,serving four counties:Jefferson on the Olympic Peninsula,Kitsap on the Kitsap Peninsula,and Snohomish and King in the Puget Sound region. It begins south of Discovery Bay at U.S. Route 101 (US 101) and crosses the Hood Canal Bridge over Hood Canal to the terminus of SR 3 near Port Gamble. SR 104 continues southeast onto the Edmonds–Kingston Ferry to cross the Puget Sound and intersects SR 99 and Interstate 5 (I-5) before ending at SR 522 in Lake Forest Park. SR 104 also has a short spur route that connects the highway to SR 99 at an at-grade signal on the Snohomish–King county line.
U.S. Route 195 (US 195) is a north–south United States Highway,of which all but 0.65 miles of its 94.02 miles are within the state of Washington. The highway starts in rural Idaho north of the city of Lewiston as a state highway in an interchange with US 95. As the road crosses into Washington it becomes a state highway that connects communities in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington. US 195 travels north,serving the cities of Pullman,Colfax and Rosalia in Whitman County before continuing into Spokane County to its terminus in the city of Spokane at an interchange with Interstate 90 (I-90).

Same-sex marriage has been legally recognized in Washington since December 6,2012. On February 13,2012,Governor Christine Gregoire signed legislation that established full marriage rights for same-sex couples in the state of Washington. Opponents mounted a challenge that required voters to approve the statute at a referendum,which they did on November 6. The law took effect on December 6,and the first marriages were celebrated on December 9. Within a couple of days,more than 600 marriage licenses were issued to same-sex couples in King County alone.

State Route 276 (SR 276) was a legislated,but not constructed,state highway located in the U.S. state of Washington. The highway was meant to serve as a northern bypass of Pullman in Whitman County,traveling east from U.S. Route 195 (US 195) west of the city to SR 270 east of the city. Proposals were first drawn in 1969 for a complete ring road around Pullman,with the west side built and signed as US 195 in 1975. The northern segment of the ring road was codified in law in 1973 as SR 276,but was never constructed. In 2016,the highway was removed by the state legislature.

U.S. Route 97 in the U.S. state of Washington is a 322-mile (518 km) route which traverses from the Oregon state line at the northern end of the Sam Hill Memorial Bridge in Maryhill,north to the Canada–US border in Okanogan County near Oroville. The highway serves major cities such as Goldendale,Yakima,Ellensburg and Wenatchee before continuing towards the Alaska Highway at the Yukon border as British Columbia Highway 97. Along the length of the roadway,US 97 is concurrent with State Route 14 in Maryhill,Interstate 82 (I-82) and US 12 between Union Gap and Ellensburg,I-90 briefly in Ellensburg,US 2 between Peshastin and rural Douglas County and SR 20 near Omak. An alternate route connects the highway with Chelan.

The James Rumsey Monument,also known as Rumsey Monument Park,is a municipal park and former West Virginia state park in Shepherdstown,Jefferson County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The park overlooks the Potomac River. It commemorates local inventor James Rumsey and his successful public demonstration of his steamboat invention on the Potomac in 1787. The monument consists of a 75 ft (23 m) column of Woodstock granite,which is capped with a globe and stands atop a tall,concrete plinth consisting of a 40 sq ft (3.7 m2) plaza.
