Arthur Henderson Hall (Sedgefield, County Durham, 1906 - London, 1983); ARCA (1930), RE (1961), RWS (1970), Prix de Rome in Engraving (1931), MSIA; was an English painter in oil and water-colour, draughtsman, etcher and illustrator, and glass designer.
He was educated at Sedgefield, Accrington and Coventry Schools of Art, The Royal College of Art and The British School, Rome. He was also Instructor of Drawing at London Central School of Art, in 1947–1952; Head of School of Graphic Design at the Kingston School of Art, in 1965-1971 (Senior Lecturer in charge 1952–1965). He was illustrator of children's books and books on gardening.

Hornsey College of Art, also known as HCA, founded in 1880 as the Hornsey School of Arts, was an art school in Crouch End, part of Hornsey, Middlesex, England. From 1965 it was in the London Borough of Haringey. From 1955 to 1973, when it was merged into Middlesex Polytechnic, it was called Hornsey College of Arts and Crafts. Teaching at Crouch End ceased about 1982.
Edward Bawden, was an English painter, illustrator and graphic artist, known for his prints, book covers, posters, and garden metalwork furniture. Bawden taught at the Royal College of Art, where he had been a student, worked as a commercial artist and served as a war artist in World War II. He was a fine watercolour painter but worked in many different media. He illustrated several books and painted murals in both the 1930s and 1960s. He was admired by Edward Gorey, David Gentleman and other graphic artists, and his work and career is often associated with that of his contemporary Eric Ravilious.
Luigi Bartolini was an Italian painter, writer, and poet. He is known for his novel, Bicycle Thieves, upon which the Italian neorealist film directed by Vittorio De Sica and of the same title was based. He published over 70 books during his lifetime. His work was also part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1948 Summer Olympics.
