Arthur George Nichols (born 20 April 1858, date of death unknown) was an Australian politician.
Born in Bristol to farmer George Nichols and Mary Natriss, he attended Clifton and Royal Agricultural College in England before arriving in Australia in 1880. He owned a Queensland station and invested in the stock market, but after a visit of England he was bankrupted when his agent embezzled his funds. After a period with a Sydney drama company he became a landowner in the Drouin district. In 1900 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the member for Gippsland West, serving until his defeat in 1902. He subsequently became a sharebroker in Melbourne. Nichols' death date is unknown. [1]

Alastair Arthur Windsor, 2nd Duke of Connaught and Strathearn was a member of the British Royal Family. He was the only child of Prince Arthur of Connaught and Princess Alexandra, 2nd Duchess of Fife. He was a great-grandson of Queen Victoria through his father and the first great-grandchild of Edward VII through his mother. Major General Sir George Frederick Wootten, was a senior Australian Army officer, public servant, right wing political activist and solicitor. He rose to the rank of temporary major general during the Second World War. Wootten earned the respect of his soldiers and superiors; General Douglas MacArthur described him as "the best soldier in the Australian Army who had it in him to reach the highest position".
