Artmajeur is an online art gallery based in Montpellier, France and founded in 2000. [1] It allows artists to present original paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographies, and prints. [2]
Artmajeur was founded in 2000 by Samuel Charmetant and Yann Sarazin, then computer sciences students in University of Montpellier. [3] The platform maintains an offline presence in the form of a quarterly Art Magazine, [4] and by participating to international art fairs. [5] [6] [7]
In 2015, Artmajeur launched a virtual gallery in a 3D visualization of the Place Vendôme (Paris).
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Artmajeur promoted #ArtistSupportPledge campaign on social media. [8] [9]
In 2021, Samuel Charmetant was appointed to the rank of Knight of Ordre national du Mérite (France) for founding the platform. [10]

The Dreamer is an oil on panel painting of c. 1712–1717 in the Art Institute, Chicago, by the French Rococo artist Antoine Watteau. The painting is a single-figure, full-length composition that shows a seated young woman amid a landscape, dressed in somewhat an exotic attire consisting of long red gown with fur garment and white bonnet; it is a recurring subject that is also present in numerous paintings and drawings by Watteau such as The Coquettes, dit Actors of the Comédie-Française. There were attempts to identify the sitter of the painting, who was notably thought to be Watteau's contemporary, the Comédie-Française actress Charlotte Desmares.
