The As Cup (French : Coupe des As) was an ice hockey tournament in France. It was made up mostly of teams from the Ligue Magnus, but in 1986 the top four teams from Nationale 2 also participated. The cup was held three times from 1985-1992, in 1985, 1986, and 1992.

Søren Lerby Danish footballer

Søren Lerby is a Danish former football player, manager, and licensed agent. As a player, he spent most of his career in Dutch football, winning five Eredivisie championships with Ajax Amsterdam and two with PSV Eindhoven. László Bölöni association football player and coach

László Bölöni is a Romanian former footballer. Bölöni was twice named Romanian Footballer of the Year, and took part in 484 Divizia A games, the fourth most appearances in the history of the competition. Internationally, he collected 102 caps with the Romanian national team, ranking him fifth on the country's all-time list, while also scoring 23 goals. Bölöni was an integral part of the Steaua team that won the European Cup in 1986, the only Romanian team to have achieved the honour. He is considered one of the best Romanian footballers in history.

John Sivebæk is a Danish former football defender. He won the 1984 Danish championship with Vejle Boldklub and played for English club Manchester United. He scored one goal in 87 appearances for the Danish national team, and represented his country at the 1986 World Cup as well as three European Championships, including the triumphant 1992 European Championship tournament.

Ward was inducted into the Castleford Tigers Hall Of Fame.
