"As If" is a song by the American musician Glaive from his debut studio album, I Care So Much That I Don't Care at All (2023). It was released by Interscope Records on April 28, 2023, as the EP's lead single. Inspired by homophobia and fentanyl addiction, Glaive wrote the song with its producers Ralph Castelli and Jeff Hazin.
"As If" was originally recorded in December 2022, [1] and was produced by Jeff Hazin and Ralph Castelli. The song explores themes of fentanyl addiction and homophobia. [2] [3] A music video for the song would be directed by Adrian Villagomez. [4] The track begins with a sampling of actor Timothée Chalamet performing a monologue. [5] [6]
Amanda Hatfield of BrooklynVegan would call the track a "Timothée Chalamet-sampling," "pop punk" track. [7] Ali Shutler of NME would write "it’s a modern take on bratty emo." [3]
