Ashfield is a local government district in western Nottinghamshire, England. According to the 2001 UK census, it has a population of 111,387, increasing to 119,497 at the 2011 Census. The district is mostly urban and contains parts of both the Nottingham Urban Area and the Mansfield Urban Area. The area has a tradition of coal mining. There are three towns in the district; the largest being Sutton-in-Ashfield. Settlements in the district include the following:

The Municipality of Ashfield was a local government area in the Inner West of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of the Sydney central business district. The Municipality was proclaimed on 28 December 1871 as the "Borough of Ashfield", which changed to the "Municipality of Ashfield" in 1906. On 12 May 2016, Ashfield merged with Marrickville Council and the Municipality of Leichhardt to form the Inner West Council.

Chapel Brook of Franklin County, Massachusetts is a tributary of the South River and the name of a 173-acre (70 ha) open space preserve located along the brook. The brook, est. 3.79 mi (6 km) long, is located in southeast Ashfield and southwest Conway. It drains into Poland Brook, thence into the South River, the Deerfield River, the Connecticut River, and Long Island Sound. The Chapel Brook reservation, managed by the non-profit conservation organization The Trustees of Reservations, is located in Ashfield and contains Chapel Falls, a series of three waterfalls on Chapel Brook, measuring 10 feet, 15 feet and 20 feet high; and Pony Mountain est. 1,400 feet, a 100-foot (30 m) open granite cliff face and popular recreational rock climbing site.
Ashfield Secondary Modern School was a coeducational secondary modern school in York, England. Its site on the corner of Tadcaster Road and Sim Balk Lane in York was taken over by York Sixth Form College, which later merged with York College of Further and Higher Education to become York College. After many years of use by York College as A-Level classrooms for subjects including art, music, law, politics and mathematics, the Ashfield buildings were demolished in 2005 to make way for a new building for York College, which opened in 2007.
