Ashi Chouksey is an Indian sport shooter. She won the silver medal in women's 10 metre air rifle team in the 2022 Asian Games. [2] [3] [4]

Early life and education

Chouksey hails from Bhopal. [5] She did her schooling at Carmel Convent, BHEL, Bhopal where she joined NCC in her Class 9. She learnt the basics of shooting at NCC. [5] Later, she pursued a sports degree from the Guru Nanak Dev University. [6] Her father Padam Kant Chouksey works in the Indian Railways. She started her formal training at the MP State Shooting Academy, Bhopal, under coaches Suma Shirur and Vaibhav Sharma. [7]

Career

In 2022, Chouksey won a gold medal in the mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup in Baku. [7] In the same year, she also won a bronze in the team event in the ISSF World Cup in Changwon. [7]

In the National shooting selections trials in 2024, she shot a world record score in the women’s 50-metre rifle 3-position event at the Madhya Pradesh Academy on 28 February 2024. [8] She broke the world record of 596, jointly held by Jenny Stene of Norway and Sagen Maddalena of the USA, by scoring 597. [8]

She is now an aspirant for the 2024 Paris Olympics

Esha Singh is an Indian amateur shooter, supported by OGQ. She became the national champion in the 10m Air Pistol category in 2018. She clinched an Olympic quota berth in the 10m Air Pistol category for the Paris Olympic Games at the Asian Qualifier at Jakarta on 8 January 2024. She was also conferred the Arjun Award for 2023 but missed the event on 9 January 2024 due to the Asian qualifier.

Rajeshwari Ria Kumari is an Indian sports shooter and fashion designer. Kumari is a trap shooter and has won medals in both domestic and international competitions. She won the silver medal at the Women's trap team event in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. In 2024, Kumari qualified for the Women's trap event in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Raiza Dhillon is an Indian sport shooter. She qualified for an Olympic quota berth for the Paris Olympics in the women's skeet event by winning a gold medal at the Asian shotgun championships, an Asian Olympic Qualifier on 20 January 2024 at Kuwait city. She became the first Indian woman to potentially qualify for an Olympic skeet event. It also brought the Indian Olympic quota count to 19. The quota berth won by a shooter is a berth for the country and the Federation, which can nominate any shooter for Olympics, as per set criteria.

Tilottama Sen is an Indian sport shooter from Bengaluru. In October 2023 she won the silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle event at the Asian Shooting Championship at Changwon in South Korea, earning a quota place for the Paris Olympics. She is the youngest Indian to win a quota for the Olympics, and if selected to the Indian team, she would be the third youngest Indian at Olympics in Paris.
