The Samajwadi Party is a socialist political party in India. It was founded on 4 October 1992 by former Janata Dal politician Mulayam Singh Yadav and is headquartered in New Delhi. The Samajwadi Party is currently led by former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav. As of 2024, it is currently the third-largest political party in India, and the largest party in Uttar Pradesh.

Govind Ballabh Pant was an Indian freedom fighter and the first chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabh Bhai Patel, Pant was a key figure in the movement for India's Independence and later a pivotal figure in the Indian Government. He was one of the foremost political leaders of Uttar Pradesh and a key player in the successful movement to establish Hindi as the official language of Indian Union.

Presently, he is serving as the 7th Deputy Chief Minister and Cabinet Minister of Medical Education, Medical and Health, and Family Welfare in the Government of Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Akhilesh Yadav is an Indian politician and national president of the Samajwadi Party who served as the 20th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Having assumed the chief minister's office on 15 March 2012 at the age of 38, he is the youngest person to have held the office till date. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Kannauj in the 18th Lok Sabha. He is the parliamentary party leader of Samajwadi Party in 18th Lok Sabha. Earlier, he was an elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly for Karhal in the 18th Vidhan Sabha, before resigning and has also been the Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from March 2022 to June 2024.

She has represented Mirzapur in the Lok Sabha since 2014. She was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from 2016 to 2019. She was previously elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Rohaniya constituency of the Legislature of Uttar Pradesh in Varanasi, where she had fought campaigns in alliance with the Peace Party of India and the Bundelkhand Congress from 2012 to 2014.
Rajendra Pratap Singh, popularly known as Moti Singh, is an Indian politician affiliated to the Bhartiya Janata Party. He represents Patti assembly constituency of Pratapgarh district. He has been elected as the member of legislative assembly from the same constituency for four times in a row. In his fourth attempt for re-election there were errors in counting, which was later cleared by the high court. The then MLA was removed and the seat was left vacant after the decision of High Court. He won the 2017 elections from the same seat and became a Cabinet Minister in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Cabinet. Previously, Shri. Singh served as Uttar Pradesh state Minister of Agriculture in 2003. He was cabinet minister in First Yogi Adityanath ministry.
Keshav Prasad Maurya is an Indian politician, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maurya was associated with a right-wing Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, before entering active politics through BJP. He was also involved in cow protectionism in his early life. Before 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, he was made state president of the BJP, and after the victory of BJP, he was appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the first Yogi Adityanath Government. Maurya again contested the legislative assembly elections in 2022 from Sirathu Assembly constituency, losing to Pallavi Patel of Samajwadi Party. However, he was given a second term as Deputy CM in the second Yogi Adityanath government.

During the Congress government in Uttarakhand he had served as a Cabinet Minister for Home, Rural Development, Food and Civil Supplies, Panchayti Raj and Minor Irrigation in Government of Uttarakhand. He was also elected as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1993. Singh represents Chakrata assembly.
