Asisko Urmeneta Otsoa Irati, (born 1965), is a Navarrese comic strip writer, graffiti artist. [1] He usually works in the Basque language.

Career

His first steps as a comic book author came in Napartheid. [1] Afterwards, he made several press collaborations (mainly in Argia). He is a member of the Zazpiak Batman collective. He participates in the satirical magazine H28, and also draws for the magazine Xabiroi Ikastolen Elkartea.

He was doing caricatures for the ETB1 television channel. Together with Juanjo Elordi he directed the film Gartxot, konkista aitzineko konkista  [ eu ] (2011). [1]

In 2017 and 2018 Asisko Urmeneta created two comics: Eusklabo Alaiak (Gure Berriak, 2017) and AztiHitza: Xahoren Biografikoa (Erroa argitaletxea, 2018). [3] [4] Thanks to this latest work, Urmeneta won the Euskadi Prize for Literature in 2019 in the category of Illustration of Literary Work. [5]

Euskaltel–Euskadi was a professional road bicycle racing team from Spain, Europe. The team was commercially sponsored, but was also partly funded by the Basque Government until the end of 2013, with riders either from the Basque Country, Navarre, La Rioja, and the French Basque Country, or who had grown up in the cycling culture of those regions: This policy was abandoned to enable retention of World Tour status. Its sponsor was Euskaltel, a Basque telecom company. Euskaltel–Euskadi was famous for its all-orange team kits. Whenever the Tour de France passed through the Basque Country many spectators lined the route dressed in the team's orange or the colours of the Basque flag. This team was created with the aim of forming the young cyclist before going to the Euskaltel–Euskadi.

The Basque Country national football team represents the Basque Country in football. It selects players from the Basque Country autonomous community, Navarre and the French Basque Country and is organised by the Basque Football Federation. Women in the Basque Nationalist Party in Francoist Spain were involved in leadership positions from an early period. The Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) was founded prior to the Second Spanish Republic in Bilbao, as a conservative Roman Catholic organization. They initially tried to be neutral during the Civil War, but later more openly opposed Nationalist forces. This led to repression and investigation after the war of women PNV members, and wives and daughters of male PNV members. Javier Vicente Manso de Velasco was a politician, nationalist, and the son of Manuel Maria Vicente. He was an industrialist and a member of the Basque Nationalist Party, and founded the Euzkadi newspaper in 1913, together with Jose Maria Goia and Luis Arroyo. He founded and directed the nationalist association Juventud Vasca in Bilbao (1912–1916). He was one of the promoters in 1918, and was involved in the creation of the newspapers Excelsior and La Tarde.
