Moulavi Asmat Ali Khan was a Bangladeshi Advocate,Politician,Educationist and Social Worker. Asmat Ali Khan was also the first elected MP Member of the Parliament in 1973. He was a close alias of Bangladesh's Father of Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In 2016 a bridge was opened under his name. In 1953 he even started a school in his community. [1] [2]
Moulavi Asmat Ali Khan was born in 1907 in British India (now Bangladesh). He graduated from Law at a very early age and started social work. His son Shahjahan Khan is a government minister. [1]
Khan was elected as an M.L.A in the year 1954 during the East Bengal Elections. Later in 1970,he was the elected M.P.A. In 1973,Khan became the first elected Member of Parliament from Faridpur-14 (Vote Area Number 214),(Madaripur). [3] He was also the founding member and president of Madaripur Awami League. In 2016 he received Swadhinata Padak. [4]
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is one of the major political parties in Bangladesh. It was founded on 1 September 1978 by the late Bangladeshi president Ziaur Rahman,after the presidential election of 1978,with a view of uniting people with a nationalist ideology. Following Rahman's assassination in 1981,his widow,Khaleda Zia,took over leadership of the party and presided as chairperson until her imprisonment,in 2018. Since then,Tarique Rahman,the son of Rahman and Zia,has served as acting chairperson and has run the affairs of the party from London.

He was also the Acting President of Pakistan from time to time when Ayub Khan left the country. His elder brother Fazlul Kabir Chowdhury was the leader of the opposition in East Pakistan assembly. Quader was preceded by Maulvi Tamizuddin Khan of Awami League.

Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury was a Bangladeshi politician,war-criminal,minister and six-term member of Jatiya Sangsad and member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee,who served as the adviser of parliamentary affairs to Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in from 2001 to 2006. On 1 October 2013 he was convicted of 9 of 23 charges and sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh for crimes during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence. He was executed by hanging from the gallows in Old Dhaka Central Jail on 22 November 2015.

Abidur Reza Khan was a Bangladesh Awami League politician. In 1946,while he was attending Rajendra College,where he met Bangabandhu and begun his student politics. He was the first Faridpur District Muslim/student League President. 1952,he played a major role during the Vasha Andolon. In 1964,Bangabandhu gave him the responsibility to organize the lawyers at the Supreme Court. In 1966,during struggle against Pakistan,he assisted Bangabandhu with the Six Points Programme of the Awami League. In 1968 during the Agartala Conspiracy Case,Abidur Reza Khan was one of the first lawyer who did not care for his life and represented Bangabandhu. He was elected MNA 1970. In 1971,April 20,General Tikka Khan ordered Abidur Reza Khan along with Nazrul Islam,Tazzuddin Ahmad,Abdul Mannan,and Tofael Ahmed to surrender for treason.
