The Penn Traffic Company was founded in 1854 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, United States, as a food service company for stagecoaches. Fleming Companies was founded as Lux Mercantile in Topeka, Kansas, in 1915 by O. A. Fleming, Gene Wilson and Samuel Lux.
