Astana-1 formerly Nur-Sultan-1, is a railway station in Astana, Kazakhstan. The original station can handle 7,000 travellers a day, as part of the infrastructure build up to Expo 2017 a new station, Astana-Nurly Zhol, is located near Mynzhyldyk Alley with a new capacity of 12,000. [1]
The station was renamed to Nur-Sultan-1 after the city changed its name. [2] On 17 September 2022, the name of the city was changed to Astana and the station name was changed.
Around half of the train services serving Astana call at Astana-1. Most of these are "through" services as the newer Astana Nurly Zhol is a terminal station. Almost all Talgo services that serve Astana no longer serve Astana-1, but many long distance and commuter services remain at the station. A handful of services call at both Astana-1 and Nur Sultan Nurly Jol.

Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, alternatively referred by its previous name as Astana International Airport until 2017, is the international airport serving Astana, Kazakhstan, the capital and second most populous city in the country. It is the primary aviation hub for northern Kazakhstan. Regionally, it stands as the second-busiest international air passenger gateway into Central Asia after Almaty International Airport (ALA). The airport is also the second-busiest airport in terms of total passenger traffic, air traffic movements and total cargo handled in Kazakhstan, with ~7,500,000 passengers served annually in 2023, a 25% increase compared with 2022, a new passenger record for the airport. On average, the airport handles more than 200 departures a day.

Sibiryak was a passenger train which linked Berlin to some of main routes and cities of Russia. The train passed through Germany, Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, partly traveling on the Trans-Siberian Railway. With 5,130 km from Berlin to Novosibirsk it was the longest route of any that depart from a station within the European Union. The train service was discontinued with effect from 14 December 2013, due to lack of demand. The line was not actively promoted to potential customers by the Deutsche Bahn, but it was available in their search engine.

Astana is the capital of Kazakhstan. Founded as Akmoly, it was once the seat of an okrug of the Russian Empire from 1830, it was granted town status and the name was modified to Akmolinsk in 1832. Snap presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan on 9 June 2019 to elect the President of Kazakhstan following the resignation of long-term President Nursultan Nazarbayev in March 2019. This was the sixth presidential election held since Kazakhstan's independence. The elections were not free and fair, and were widely denounced as a sham. Acting president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Nur Otan won the election.
The Astana-Saparjai-1 is a bus station located in the city of Astana. The bus station serves more than 60 intercity, interregional and international routes daily, which carry about 1 million passengers a year.
The Astana City Mäslihat is a unicameral legislature of Kazakhstan’s capital city of Astana. The councillors of the City Mäslihat are elected concurrently with the MP's of the Mäjilis. The City Mäslihat councillors perform their duties by approving plans, economic and social programs for the city's development.
