Atalia Praratya (born 20 November 1973), also known as Ibu Cinta, is an Indonesian politician and academic. She has served as a member of the House of Representatives for the West Java I electoral district since 1 October 2024. She is the former spouse of Ridwan Kamil, former governor of West Java and former mayor of Bandung.[1]
Since 2013, Atalia has served as a commissioner of PT Urbane Indonesia. She has been a permanent lecturer at Widyatama University since 2020.[2] She is also the founder of Jabar Bergerak and served as Chair of the West Java Provincial Scout Council.
Personal life
Atalia Praratya was born in Bandung on 20 November 1973. Her father, Ahmad Syarif Puradimadja, is an architect and lecturer in urban planning.[3]
She attended SMA Negeri 5 Bandung. She earned a diploma (D-3) in taxation from Padjadjaran University and a bachelor's degree in international relations from Parahyangan Catholic University. She later obtained a master's degree and doctorate in Communication Science from Pasundan University and Padjadjaran University respectively.[2][4]
Atalia married Ridwan Kamil on 7 December 1996 in Bandung. They had two biological children, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz (deceased) and Camillia Laetitia Azzahra. In 2020, the couple adopted a son named Arkana Aidan Misbach.[5][6]
The nickname Ibu Cinta derives from Ridwan Kamil's pet name for Atalia, Si Cinta, and was later widely adopted by the public.[7]
On 7 January 2026, the Bandung Religious Court officially granted the divorce between Atalia Praratya and Ridwan Kamil.[8]
Career
When Ridwan Kamil was elected Mayor of Bandung, Atalia served as Chair of the Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement (TP PKK) of Bandung City, overseeing programs related to social welfare and women’s empowerment.[9]
Following Ridwan Kamil’s inauguration as Governor of West Java, Atalia served as Chair of TP PKK West Java and was appointed Bunda PAUD (Patron of Early Childhood Education) of West Java.[10][11]
In 2020, she was appointed Chair of the West Java Provincial Scout Council (Kwartir Daerah Pramuka Jawa Barat).[12]
In 2023, Atalia registered as a legislative candidate of the Golkar Party for the 2024 general election, stating her intention to advocate more strongly for women’s issues. She was elected to the DPR RI for the West Java I constituency and assigned to Commission VIII.[13][14]
