He was the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Sipitang constituency in Sabah,representing the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition from 2008 to May 2018. Dato' Masir anak Kujat is a Malaysian politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sri Aman from March 2008 to November 2022. He has been a member of the Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) since 7 March 2019. He left PSB to become an independent MP in March 2022. Masir lost his Sri Aman federal seat on the November 2022 Malaysian general election to Doris Sophia Brodie from Gabungan Parti Sarawak in a 4-way fight. He previously served as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs II in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi from July 2015 to the power loss of BN coalition in May 2018. He was a member of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS),a former component party of Barisan Nasional (BN) and now Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalitions,from 2008 to 2019.
The United Sabah National Organisation (New) (Malay:Parti Pertubuhan Kebangsaan Sabah Bersatu (Baru);abbrev:USNO (Baru)) is a political party in Sabah,Malaysia. The party was formed in 2013 with the aim of reviving the long-buried struggle of USNO (Lama). The establishment of the new USNO Party was inspired by the struggle of Tun Mustapha Harun from the dissolved old USNO party in favor of the peninsula-based UMNO. This revived political party is also one of the main component parties of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition (GRS) since March 2022.
People's Justice Front or in Malay:Angkatan Keadilan Rakyat (AKAR) was a splinter party of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) formed in 1989 which was led by Dusun and Bajau ethnic-based leaders namely Mark Koding,Kalakau Untol and Pandikar Amin Mulia. In 1995,AKAR had gone through a leadership crisis between Pandikar Amin Mulia and Jeffrey Kitingan. The party's name was later changed to United People's Justice Front or in Malay:Angkatan Keadilan Rakyat Bersatu. AKAR BERSATU was dissolved to enable its members to join UMNO in 2001 and half of the member join the PGRS,a local Sabahan party founded by Ationg Tituh,one of AKAR former member of Ketua Gabungan Cawangan AKAR Kuamut.
The Sabah Truth Party or in Malay:Parti Kebenaran Sabah (KEBENARAN) is a political party based in Sabah,Malaysia mainly to serve as catalyst to be a Suluk community party. The Parti Kebenaran Sabah (KEBENARAN) claimed to be a Barisan Nasional (BN) friendly party. It is a relatively new party,was among the latest new parties registration approved by the Registrar of Society (RoS) and just received permission to operate as a political party in 2013.

He served as State Minister of Education and Innovation of Sabah in the Heritage Party (WARISAN) state administration under former chief minister Shafie Apdal from May 2018 to the collapse of the WARISAN administration in September 2020,Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat from May 2004 to December 2007 and member of parliament (MP) for Sipitang from April 1995 to March 2008. He is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN),a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. He was a member of the WARISAN,before leaving the party on 8 October 2021 to become an independent in support of the ruling GRS coalition. He was also member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) which he left in 2018. On 22 May 2022,he confirmed that he had applied to rejoin and was pending return to BN and UMNO after leaving them four years ago. However,his application was not accepted before he withdrew the application and joined GAGASAN instead on 21 January 2023.
