The Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) producing company operating a liquefied natural gas plant in Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago. Atlantic LNG operates four liquefaction units (trains). Train 4, with a 5.2 million tonnes per year production capacity, is among the world's largest LNG trains in operation. [1]
The Atlantic LNG project was started by Cabot LNG (now Suez) in 1992. In 1993, Cabot LNG, National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago, Amoco and British Gas plc signed the Memorandum of Understanding, and launched a feasibility study of the project. The Atlantic LNG company was formed in July 1995. general Construction of the first train started in 1996, and the train was officially opened on 13 March 1999. The first cargo was loaded in April 1999. Train 2 started up on 12 August 2002, Train 3 on 28 April 2003, and Train 4 in December 2005. [2] A feasibility study for the fifth train—Train X—was scheduled to be concluded by December 2007. [3]
The total production capacity of Atlantic LNG's four trains is around 14.8 million tonnes per year. The capacity of the Train 1 is 3 million tonnes per year, and the capacity of each of Trains 2 and 3 is 3.3 million tonnes per year. Train 4, which cost $1.2 billion, has a production capacity of 5.2 million tonnes per year. [4] The total storage capacity of Atlantic LNG's facility is 524,000 cubic meters. [5] The total investment of building four LNG trains was US$3.6 billion. [4]
The Train 1 is supplied from the BP-operated fields in the east coast of Trinidad through the NGC-Trinidad-and-Tobago-owned 36 inches (910 mm) diameter pipeline.
Train 2 is supplied from BP land (50%) off the east coast of Trinidad and from BG-operated land (50%) off the north coast (NCMA) through 24 inches (610 mm) diameter pipeline. Train 3 receives 75% of its supply from BP land and 25% from a mix of NCMA gas (as with Train 2) and east coast gas (ECMA) held 50% by BG and 50% by ChevronTexaco. [2]
In 2021, BP Trinidad and Tobago informed the government of Trinidad and Tobago that due to gas production decline, there was insufficient gas to supply Train 1. The government decided despite spending US$250 million dollars on renovating the train to suspend operations for at least two years. [6]
Atlantic LNG is owned by the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC Trinidad and Tobago), Shell, BP, and the Chinese Investment Corporation (CIC).

In August 2007, the Vedomosti newspaper reported, that BP has invited Russia's Gazprom to take a stake in Atlantic LNG. [8]

QatarGas is said to be used through gas diplomacy as leverage by Qatar on the EU and India to advance its interests and silence criticism of its human rights violations and corruption.

The company operates all oil and gas activities in Qatar, including exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage. The President & CEO is Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs. The company's operations are directly linked with state planning agencies, regulatory authorities, and policy making bodies. Together, revenues from oil and natural gas amount to 60% of the country's GDP. As of 2018 it was the third largest oil company in the world by oil and gas reserves. In 2022, the company had total revenues of US$52bn, a net income of US42.4bn, and total assets of US$162bn. In 2021, QatarEnergy was the fifth largest gas company in the world.

RasGas Company Limited was a liquefied natural gas (LNG) producing company in Qatar. It was the second-biggest LNG producer in Qatar after QatarEnergy LNG. RasGas operated seven LNG trains located in Ras Laffan Industrial City. It was merged with Qatargas on 1 January 2018.
Liquid Niugini LNG is a natural gas liquefaction project in Papua New Guinea. It is developed by Liquid Niugini Gas Ltd, and owned by PNG LNG Inc., a Bahamas-based parent holding company.

Oman LNG is a LNG plant in Qalhat near Sur, Oman. The company was established by the Royal decree of Sultan Qaboos of Oman in 1994. The construction was launched in November 1996, and the plant was commissioned in September 2000. Oman LNG operates three LNG trains with a total capacity of 10.4 million tonnes per year. The company's production facilities are located on the coast at Qalhat near Sur in the South Sharqiyah Governorate, Oman.
Ust-Luga is a settlement and railway station in Kingiseppsky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, near the Estonian border, situated on the Luga River near its entry into the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland, about 110 kilometres (68 mi) west of St. Petersburg.
Baltic LNG is a liquefied natural gas plant under construction on the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea in Ust-Luga, Leningrad Oblast, Russia. The plant's capacity would be 13 million tons of LNG per year. The planned launch date has changed many times, and according to the latest plans, the first line will start operating in 2024 and the second line in 2025. The cost of the project is estimated at 2.4 trillion rubles. On October 7, 2021, it was announced that the LNG plant might be expanded to three lines. The third line could be introduced by 2026, which would increase the plant's capacity to 20 million tons per year, reaching the capacity of Arctic LNG-2.
SEGAS LNG is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) complex in Damietta, Egypt. It is located 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of Port Said. The name SEGAS comes from the Spanish Egyptian Gas Company. The complex consists of a single LNG train capable of liquifying up to 5 million tons of natural gas per year and is one of two LNG export plants in Egypt.

Yamal LNG is a joint venture led by Novatek based around a liquefied natural gas plant located in Sabetta at the north-east of the Yamal Peninsula, northwest Siberia, Russia. In addition to the LNG plant, the project includes production at the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye gas field, and the transport infrastructure, including the Sabetta seaport and airport.
The first plant, Sakhalin II, was completed in Russia in 2009 having utilised the skills of Shell plc, who had sold 50% of the project to Gazprom in 2006. Prior to 2017 Gazprom was the sole producer of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Russia.
