Attilio Barcella (born 6 June 1966) is a former Italian alpine skier. [1]
The best results of his career were the victory in the discipline cup (giant slalom) in the FIS Alpine Ski Europa Cup in 1989 and was also 3rd in overall, a national title (giant slalom) at the Italian Alpine Ski Championships in 1989, and a top ten result (5th place) in FIS Alpine Ski World Cup always in giant slalom and always in 1989 season. The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the top international circuit of alpine skiing competitions, launched in 1966 by a group of ski racing friends and experts which included French journalist Serge Lang and the alpine ski team directors from France and the USA. It was soon backed by International Ski Federation president Marc Hodler during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1966 at Portillo, Chile, and became an official FIS event in the spring of 1967 after the FIS Congress at Beirut, Lebanon.

Mikayla Martin was a Canadian alpine skiing, ski cross and mountain bike athlete holding multiple titles in both mountain biking and skiing racing. She raced with the British Columbia Alpine Ski Team from 2014 to 2017 and the Canadian Ski Cross Team from 2017 to 2019. Martin placed 4th in the 2017 Canadian National Championships and won gold at the 2018 World Junior Ski Cross Championships in Cardrona, New Zealand. She was promoted to the Canada Ski Cross World Cup team for the 2018-2019 season and at her first World Cup race in Arosa, Switzerland on Dec 16, 2018, she qualified third and finished 9th after failing to advance to the semi-finals. At her second World Cup race in Innichen, Italy on Dec 22, 2018 she finished 6th and qualified for the 2019 FIS Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Park City, Utah. Christian Polig is an Italian former alpine skier who won the Europa Cup overall title in 1990.
The women's super-G in the 2022 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup consisted of nine events including the final. Although no Italian woman had ever won the super-G championship, the battle in 2021-22 was between three of them: speed specialists Sofia Goggia and Elena Curtoni plus 2020 overall champion Federica Brignone. Through the first six races, Curtoni had won one, and each of the others had won two. However, Goggia was injured in a crash in the sixth race, in Cortina d'Ampezzo, and missed the next set of speed races as well as the super-G in the 2022 Winter Olympics. The seventh race, which was held days before the Winter Olympics, was skipped by many of the other top competitors, but was won by Brignone, enabling her to open a sizable lead in the discipline, and Brignone was able to clinch the season championship in the next Super-G when neither Curtoni nor Goggia scored points.
Johannes Strolz is an Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer. He won the gold medal in the combined at the 2022 Olympics. He specializes in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. He is the son of Hubert Strolz, the gold medalist in Combined at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. He and his father became the first father-son duo to win gold in Alpine skiing at the Olympics.
