Attique Ahmed Khan (Urdu:سردارعتیقاحمدخان;born 21 January 1955) is a Pakistani-Kashmiri politician who had served as the President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference political party since 2002. He was elected twice as the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir from 24 July 2006 to 6 January 2009,and for a second term from 29 July 2010 to 26 July 2011. He served as the Leader of the opposition from 15 January 2009 to 22 October 2009,and has been elected five times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. He also had worked in the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.
Attique Ahmed Khan was born on 21 January 1955,in Pakistan,from the Dhund-Abbasi tribe. He is the son of Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan. Khan obtained his Masters in International Relations and Arabic language from the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia.
Khan served as the president of the All Jammu &Kashmir Muslim Conference,a political party from 2003 to 2019. [1] He was re-elected in 2010 succeeding Farooq Haider Khan with an unopposed 39 out of 49 votes from the poll. [2] He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for five times since 1990. From 24 July 2006 to 6 January 2009,Khan was the Prime Minister of the Government of Azad Kashmir. [1] and the Leader of the Opposition from 15 January 2009 to 22 October 2009. He was re-elected for his second term as the Prime Minister on 29 July 2010,which he held until 26 July 2011.
Khan is a political worker. He first served as the Chairman Youth and Students Wing (1984–1990),and later as the Chief Organizer of the party of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (AJKMC) (1992–2001). Khan became the founding Chairman of the Pakistan Assembly of Muslim Youth (PAMY).
Pallandri,also spelled Palandri,originally Pulandari,is a Tehsil which serves as the administrative capital of Sudhanoti district of Azad Kashmir. It is located at latitude 33°42′54″N,longitude 73°41′9″E,90 km (56 mi) from Islamabad,the capital of Pakistan. It is connected with Rawalpindi and Islamabad through Azad Pattan road. Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was a Kashmiri revolutionary leader and politician,who led the 1947 Poonch Rebellion against absolute rule of the Maharaja in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and played a key role in the First Kashmir War,supporting Pakistan. He served as the President of Azad Kashmir for 13 years across four non-consecutive terms and still remains the longest-serving president of the state,since its establishment.

He was the longest-serving prime minister of Azad Kashmir,having served a total of more than 10 years across two tenures.
The All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (Urdu:آلجموںوکشمیرمسلمکانفرنس) also shortly referred as Muslim Conference (MC) is a political party in Pakistan administered territory of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Sahibzada Muhammad Ishaq Zaffar also known as Ishaq Zaffar (1945–2006) was a Pakistani politician in Azad Kashmir administrative territory. He filled various positions in the Azad Kashmir government from the 1970s until dying in office in 2006,beginning as a member of the Pakistan People's Party,serving as member of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly,Speaker of the Assembly,Acting President of Azad Kashmir,and senior minister,and was opposition leader in the constituent assembly at the time of his death. He contested elections for constituent assembly of Azad Kashmir for five times and always won assembly seat.
In spring 1947,an uprising against the Maharaja Hari Singh of Jammu and Kashmir broke out in the Poonch jagir,an area bordering the Rawalpindi district of West Punjab and the Hazara district of the North-West Frontier Province in the future Pakistan. It was driven by grievances such as high taxes,the Maharaja's neglect of World War veterans,and above all,Muslim nationalism with a desire to join Pakistan. The leader of the rebellion,Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan,escaped to Lahore by the end of August 1947 and persuaded the Pakistani authorities to back the rebellion. In addition to the backing,Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan authorised an invasion of the state,by the ex-Indian National Army personnel in the south and a force led by Major Khurshid Anwar in the north. These invasions eventually led to the First Kashmir War fought between India and Pakistan,and the formation of Azad Kashmir provisional government. The Poonch jagir has since been divided across Azad Kashmir,administered by Pakistan and the state of Jammu and Kashmir,administered by India.
General elections were held in Azad Kashmir on 11 July 2006 to elect the members of eighth assembly of Azad Kashmir. Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and Raja Zulqarnain Khan were elected as Prime Minister and President of Azad Kashmir,respectively.

Syed Tasawar Hussain Naqvi Jawadi was a Pakistani Shia scholar from Azad Kashmir,renowned for fostering unity among the Muslims of the region,served as the former President of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan,Azad Kashmir,Sub-Supervision Member of Imamia Students Organization Azad Kashmir Division and was a member of the Ulama Mushaikh Council of Azad Kashmir.
