Aubrey Dennis (born 27 May 1929) is a former South African cricketer who played first-class cricket for North-Eastern Transvaal from 1950 to 1955.
A solid left-handed batsman who usually batted at number three, Dennis hit the first of his two first-class centuries in North-Eastern Transvaal’s match against the touring New Zealanders in 1953-54. North-Eastern Transvaal trailed by 166 runs, but Dennis, concentrating determinedly and limiting his strokeplay, scored 100 not out in 310 minutes, enabling his captain to declare and set the New Zealanders a final-innings target. [1] [2] In his final match, against Griqualand West in the last match of the 1954-55 season, he scored 138, the only century of the match, which North-Eastern Transvaal won. [3]
In 1957-58 he played for Northern Rhodesia in a two-day match against the touring Australians. [4]
The Sunfoil Series is the main domestic first class cricket competition in South Africa, first contested in 1889-90. From 1990-91 it became known as the Castle Cup, from 1996-97 as the Supersport Series and from 2012-13 by The Sunfoil series. The Highveld Lions have won the title the most times.

He was an alumnus of the King Edward VII School, set up a squash section in the Old Edwardians club, and was elected president of the South African Hockey Union.
David Bartlett Pithey was a Rhodesian cricketer who played in eight Tests for South Africa from 1963 to 1967. As well as playing for Rhodesia and Western Province, he played first-class cricket for Oxford University and Northamptonshire. Christopher Martin-Jenkins described him as "spasmodically brilliant". His brother, Tony, also played Test cricket for South Africa; they played together in five of the Tests on the 1963–64 tour of Australasia.
